If you meant to compare with microsoft, I don't think it applies. Microsoft's monopoly is about forcing software to be bundled on the piece of hardware you choose to buy. iPod's monopoly is about everyone choosing to buy their piece of hardware. It would be comparable if you were forced to buy an iPod the same way you're forced to buy Windows each time you buy a PC...
Most every car made since the mid eighties has an electronic rev limiter on it. Attempt to rev past this limit, and the ECU will selectively cut fuel/spark to keep the engine speed under control.
I'm pretty sure mine (1992 mazda 323) does not. It doesn't have anything else than the bare minimum, it doesn't even have an injector (it has a carburator).
No linux kernel supports Airport Extreme. Blame Apple for their choice of a proprietary Broadcom chipset. (you can also blame Broadcom if you prefer to do so)
I think it's called 'Natural selection'... (the only problem with the 'Car' mode of natural selection being that it sometimes selects innocent bypassers at the same time)
That's strange! how comes ? (there must be a reason...)
Here in France it's not illegal; but the government would like to have a new law for forcing people to drive with low beams on everytime (including day). For safety, but also, I'm told, to avoid people flashing high-beams on others to warn them about cops a little further down the road;)
Didn't you learn about high beams to signify the driver in front of you he's in the way? Didn't you think some people slower than you in the left lane are just passing someone slower than themselves and will be out of the way as soon as they passed over?
Tailgating puts pressure on both you and the guy in front. Most people don't cruise in the left lane when there's noone to pass, too. For those that do, high beams often solve the situation.
You know what I do whenever I get tailgated? I break - hard and quick. the asshole behind, after seeing a nice close-up of my licence plate, then realize he *hadn't* *time* *to* *react*, and would have rear-ended me in case I didn't stop breaking (ie, in case of emergency). That's often enough to make them re-evaluate their safety distance again.
Not much:

March elections were regional ones. Last national elections were about two years ago, and people voted massively (~80%) for Chirac (right wing), in order to avoid Le Pen (fascist) to get any chance.
I like to run linux on my iBook (which doesn't even have OS X installed), just because it's the easiest way to have a consistent experience between computers (same softs, same config, same everything) . I also prefer lots of things of GNU/Linux over OS X, even customized OS X.
I hope you like supporting that Linux install... And like fielding questions like: "I just bought a brand new digital camera.
Er, I may be slow, but I fail to see how the grandparent poster's users, in a professional environment, couly justify the need of fancy stuff like digital cameras or downloading ringtones, or installing printers themselves. If there's an IT professional where he works, it is most probably in an environment big enough so that users should not mess with their computers.

What about peril-sensitive glasses?
Now I will have to listen to my car telling me my life needs viagra ...
Oh, at first I read 'my wife'. That was disturbing.
These people will only learn when it's too late.

It looks more like windows CE, from the third photo.
That's illegal in most states.

+1, paranoid.
Or is it -1?

for a '99 Sunfire GT in 99
Sun makes cars, too !?
If you want wide adoption of Linux
Who told you 'we' do? Lots of kernel developers disagree
Your CC number may now end up on someone's belt buckle... what an horrific thought, isn't it?
What can you do with this though?

You forget that you can't buy the Mac without a software license.
:(
No, but you can give the software back and get refunded. My sister did. There's a maximum delay of about 15 days, though, which I did let pass
The source code to the base application is still GPL, it's the additions to make it work will for Windows that aren't.
The shareware-type time-limitation, on the other hand, certainly is not GPL compatible.
No. updatedb and slocate find on the filename, not contents.

A French company want to take away an American company
Please, don't turn that, which is a rather standard corporate greedy behaviour, into a french/US troll. Thank you.
Question: Can you dual boot it though?
Sure, you can. The boot loader on ppc linux is 'yaboot' and handles that fine.
