I'm now in japan participating in the e-navi program now and I must report that the translator dosen't work. I've only used it as party trick because it only spits out very strange japanese phases. Japanese friends of mine call it the joke machine. The translation software is called Transpeech. The best thing about the PDA is that i get free wireless(cellphone) internet for awhile.
... people who dont already dream of fucking Ayanami,
AMEN!...and with the best of luck it will bring the Giant Robot Genre into mainstream Hollywood.
Do you remember Robot Jox?
Don't count Sony out. They will launched their own online music store in the spring and will be using their own codec ATRAC. Might not mean anything to the US markets but if you ride the train in Japan you see everyone with MD players.
I'm a African-American web designer/geek and never took offense to the term Mater/Slave. But, I do get offened by alot of thing in the tech industry(hiring practices, unequal schooling for minorities, high price of new G5's).
If the term to describe HD set up was something like Yankee/Confederate, Nazi/Jew, USA/Canada, or something else along those lines people won't stand for it. African-American are the most resent victums of Slavery(it only ended less than 150years ago) It is only reasonible that people are still upset. In 150 years will the Holocaust be a forgotten memory?
It is sad that we cant change the larger problems in our world.
I saw the demo on the nightly news(in Japan). Pretty cool! I've been in japanese cars with camera equipped visual parking guides but the auto park takes that one step into the future.
I also live in Japan and on the NHK news(sorry couldn't find the video clip) they showed people copying magazines. I think that the news/press release headline was lost in translation. I also think they are targeting magazines. No one is going to take 1000+ photos of a book. Yes it is true at every book store you see a mob in front of the magazine rack and rarely you see someone buy one. This story is highlighting the start of bigger problems with the marriage of cell phones and cameras. I can't wait until these unknown troubles start to come to the US. Up-skirting couldn't be easier (T.T)

Watch TV
Camera Still/Video
GPS
Internet
Games
MP3 player
Pedometer
Address Book
Bone speakers
These are just some options with Japanese cell phones.

In Godzilla(US) the old man on the boat was japanese. He spoke Godzilla's real name, "G..O..J...I...R..A".
