Why not make an attempt to hide the PC and cables? Perhaps some fake plants or a fake bookshelf (that ledge doesn't look big enough to house actual books -- so cut off the spines from a bunch of books, glue em together, and TADA!). I dunno, be creative! You've already proven you're somewhat clever what with the actual windows. Why stop there?
I'd also get a fern or table or SOMETHING to hide the PC with. Cause boy, it's really pretty till you see the Big Ugly Box.
Just a thought... it's otherwise very, very cool. I wish I had the m4d 1337 skillz to put something like that together.
Is it just me, or does he seem to magically side step a lot of issues brought up by comparing how much *cough* "better" Real is to the other players? Specifically, I'm thinking of #5.
I'm hoping and praying for a Earthbound Zero / Mother 1 port someday for the gameboy. I'd also love to see the SNES Earthbound released, and while we're on the subject, how about Chrono Trigger? My wish list goes on to include the SNES StarFox, but that goofy FX chip they jammed in the game may make it a difficult port. I honestly still can't figure out the purpose behind that FX chip...
Praise the Good Lord!! I'll tell you how that monkey was healed, and it was none of your voodoo which craft medicine! The Good Lord saw fit to grant that monkey a second chance, and He blessed that monkey with a miraculous gift! I prayed harder for that monkey than anything else in my good Christian life, and I prayed, and I prayed to the Good Lord that He would see fit to grant that little monkey the ability to overcome the darkness and the flu, and Praise the Almighty Lord Jesus Christ, He has come through for us and that little monkey! Praise the Lord, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
All these recent bills and such seem like a knee-jerk reaction to the whole Oh-God-No-The-RIAA-Is-Going-Out-Of-Business-And-It 's-All-A-12-Year-Old-Girl-With-An-Internet-Connect ion's-Fault. What these people need to do is stop outlawing computer hard drives (which it sounds like this bill has the potential to do) and instead find a way to get the media into the hands of Poor College Students and little girls -- so they can all sit back and enjoy an evening with the Olsen Twins in a bath towel -- at a reasonable cost.
The sad truth is, some people just can't afford 20 bucks for a DVD or CD, or 10 bucks for a one-shot movie ticket. While you could argue they should then live a very dull life watching paint dry, people have found that downloading the goods is a victimless crime. But now, cheap streaming videos and 99 cent song downloads appear to be changing all that and looks to be the wave of the future, so why the hell not embrace it?
Okay okay, HTML is not programming, I know. But it's close enough for someone just getting their feet wet. It's easy, it's fun, and you get to show off your work to friends and family!
I'd recommend the Visual Quickstart Guide HTML for the World Wide Web, 5th Edition. Get's ya started off real basic, and then you dive into tables, and eventually start making pages with style sheets. Perhaps after she's got HTML down, you could show her javascript or perl? (I know, javascript -- not programming, get off my back, will ya?:)
HTML was the first "programming" (I know, I know) I did with my Mac, and I had a blast learning it.
These people must be really, really, really stupid. If you jack up the price of music downloads, people are simply going to stop paying for the downloads and go back to the glory days of Napster 1.0. As my subject says, they're a bunch of greedy bastards. The kiddies on gnutella and limewire aren't gonna be the ones responsible for destroying the music industry, it'll be the moron execs (although the downloaders will be blamed for it in the history books, because that's the spin the RIAA Beast has given it).
Now if only broadcaster's would broadcast something worth recording. Since FOX canceled both Firefly and Wonderfalls, and after Angel's demise (the show, not the character) at the end of the season, I'll be watching one single TV show for the 2004-2005 season.
I'm personally not a reality TV fan, or a teen-sex drama fan, or a law and order fan, so there's not much more on these days. There's a reason I'm watching less TV, and it's not all because of EverCrack. Thank god for Netflix.
Which I guess is a good thing -- sitting in front of the TV really kills your... your... what's that thing called? The one in my... uhh... uhh...
I'm surprised no one pointed out that the cost of a 20 dollar car charger is not only cheaper than a box of playing cards and 4 batteries, but also nicer looking and just plain easier? I don't know, but it seems cutting the box open and reglueing it closed every time you need to replace the batteries (which, if they're not rechargable, cost additional money to replace, too), would be a real pain in the ass.
I think anything is better than running laps or running around in the dirt. It was always so pointless, there was never any satisfaction in running around in circles for 20 minutes. If they'd found a better way of making the act of moving ENTERTAINING, then gym would have been a nice change from sitting in a hot, dry classroom. I didn't like throwing a ball around, but I would have LOVED playing DDR for 50 minutes. I think this goes to show how much educators are out of touch with the world they're teaching.
Anyone else think we're nearing the end of the analog phone system?
Obviously, the Cmdr has never dealt with computers and the General Public. Did anyone read the NY Times article posted on slashdot today? If people have that many problems sending email... well, I think anything beyond dialing a telephone is much too much...
Sure, have them hook me up with a job there, and I'll suggest lots of things they could/should cover in their little magazine.
I propose a bounty on slashdot admins who post the same story twice.
Just a thought...

You get it the second it's available, assuming the severs can handle the last minute download everyone will be taking part in.
You're free to use any third-party mail notification software you'd like!
Just, not with Gmail. (You saw that coming, huh?)
I find it a bit hard to believe that people are complaining about a FREE SERVICE. Holy jeez, man, just ruin it for the rest of us, why don't cha?

"Vivendi-owned Universal and Sony BMG, as the new company is to be called, account for about 46 percent of music sold worldwide."
That's one hell of a lot of Hilary Duff CDs.

Zero.
Opps. I meant, seven.
Might they have anything in the works that could save them? What could it be?
the iSun.
So what would happen if you drank it? Is it toxic?
How long before we read the first story of some, um, inappropriate footage captured with one of these?
Just as soon as I can buy one...

Know who got my CD money instead of the retail stores? Instant Gratification.

Trying going here!
If you buy their extended warrenty, you get worldwide coverage for three years. Not a bad deal! :)
So for $150 more, I could get me a refurbished iBook G4 800MHz/256MB/30GB/Combo/E/56K/12"TFT from the Apple Online Store? Cool.
Extra long 30 foot radio range. Line of sight not required!
Cause you just know that's a useful feature for your mouse!
My vote for Best Director and Best Picture went towards Sofia Coppola and Lost in Translation. I'm really happy she won Best Screenplay.
