Well, your post contains one truth, your IQ isn't 50. It is far far lower.

QR is simply a bar code. You scan it and get a string of data. That is it. It can contain any string valid within its codeset but it is just a string just a barcode is just a number.

Sure, buffer overflows exist but they exist deep within complex code, not on simple basic stuff as reading in a user input especially when there is only one.

And people with IQ of 50 (you call them master or whatever you can manage to utter with your sub-50 IQ) don't work for banks.

It doesn't matter if the string contains characters that together form a URL, that is only valid if someone with a sense of humor starts testing the read string for what it might possibly contain. It could be a string that if processed as a gif shows a image. But why would a banknote scanner contain the code to do that?

I could build a nut screwing robot and then give it an icecream and watch it transform itself into a icecream eating machine OR I could see it reject the input as invalid because it was never programmed to deal with that input.

What do you think that happens if a random string of text in a ssl key happens to form the word "reboot". That the computer will reboot?

You, the submitter, timothy and an awful lot of people who should be on facebook instead of slashdot seem to think computers are magic. They are not.

Only when silly MS programmers try to make their software clever by trying to guess what input could mean, things go wrong. People who software for banks are not silly.

If you spend a million years beating them over the head with a feature for "smart" input where code just tries to run any input whatsoever, they would just not get what you are trying to do. Such a stupid idea just does not exists in the universe of serious coders. There are no serious coders at MS. Or indeed Apple. Or many linux projects. Luckily banks for make it a point to find it for their "oh shit this is going to cost us more money then the worst/best traders in history" projects. Else the treasury goes after them and this ain't the corrupt branch of government, this is the bit that closes you down and then dissects your corpse while you are still using it so they can find the stupid bit and show it to all the banks. There are a lot of banks, so they will have to cut your up pretty small.

The pro's wiped theirs, the amateurs kept theirs, but it took the BBC a lot of effort to restore the amateur tape recordings to something even possible to broadcast and then it was on acceptable because it was the choice between very bad video or nothing at all.

This isn't about a show being repeated in the summer, it is about old cultural content being re-aired a decade, half a century into the future. And I am fairly confident that we will consider 1080p content hopelessly unwatchable in 50 years time.

But this caught some critism, so what did happen a lot suddenly? An older character, just with an under-developed body. Still pretty much the same, just the supposed age is different. And the character still cutely reacts with small fisted fury at being talked to like a child.

English versions of more erotic Anime/Manga often deal with age issues bij simply raising the age of all the characters to 18, regardless of how obviously wrong it is.

All a writer of child abuse porn has to do is state that X is 18+ somewhere, not mention a minor age anywhere else and then just write the story as before. The audience can easily imagine the implied age if they want to do so.

Hell, the internet is full of porn where something is implied, that isn't really taking place. For that matter, so is "mainstream" media or do you think most Hollywood stars have real sex on the big screen?

The harsh thing is that the middle east uprisings weren't caused by particular nasty dictators or food prices but by over population. The Arab culture kept its "breed like rabbits" attitude from the days most children died or were outright killed in insane working conditions (look up on how Victorian coal mines were run, or factory mills) but was handed western medicine for free. Result, a population explosion that nobody has a use for.

The west had huge problems as well, "luckily" we had massive wars, millions died. Society in Europe was greatly affected by the gigantic losses of WW1 and WW2. Compare this to "light" conflicts of the middle east. We are talking a few thousand deads at most. Even Iraq stops at a few hundred thousands in years of conflict. WW1 saw that in single battles, sometimes on a single day. You can bet that cleared up the unemployment lines real quick when a town could loose all its sons just like that.

If you get a real feel for the Arab Spring, what you saw were a lot of youths nobody wanted or knew what to do with. You might think they are highly educated since they a lot got a university degree but frankly (and some are going to claim this is racism) they are just not that intelligent. What people forget is that when in the west, when we talk about a university degree and how smart that makes you, we are thinking of doctors, engineers, PhD's. Not liberal art majors.

Lets face it, a university degree means nothing. But in places like Indonesia, the one son sent to university sits at home in clean clothes, not allowed to do manual work because he went to university while the rest of the family is on a starvation diet. And no, I didn't get this from the net, this was told to me by a Indonesian friend and confirmed in a circle of other Indonesians.

For true advances from smart people, you need crazy gay jews. Think about western history, when has anything ever been achieved by someone who wasn't either crazy, gay or a jew? Sane hetero Christians are barely suited to take out the trash at MIT. The great universities of the world are those places where the local villagers aren't entirely sure of the gates around the university are there to keep outsiders out, or the inmates in. Possibly both.

There is no point in just stuffing a lot of youths with a lot of info, if you also don't cultivate a culture where they can run wild with that info. And the countries of the Arab spring, don't have that. They got religious policy at a university. Imagine MIT or even TU Delft with Christian hall monitors. Wouldn't work would it? There is a reason the CD was invented in Holland and NOT Japan. There is also a reason the Japanese made the most money on it... but that is for another rant.

For the middle east and Africa to change, they need to get rid of religion, stop breeding and focus their attention on 1-2 kids who then are allowed to see if they can rise to the top and if not, get an ordinary job. That is what western schooling is all about. Here is your eduction, what can you do with it? Go for a doctorate, be a crazy inventor or forget most of it and get a day job that pays the taxes for the next generation to have try.
