It's really too bad the books cover sucks so bad. I would've expected something a little nicer than a compass. And also.... they didn't capitalize all of CISO on the cover. As you would normally do when using an Acronym.
Would it not be better to simply keep a set of laminated copies of all those documents? In the case that you don't have access to a computer when you need it?
There isn't always going to be a Kinko's or internet cafe nearby when you're in the midst of a terrorist attack or natural disaster the magnitude of which you are speaking.
true, it was not done to this scale... and was certainly not photo-realistic... but, it was still distinct enough to make out exact buildings and landmarks.... and certainly enough to make out billboards and other such high visibility marketing.... and the last iteration I saw of such technology, which was about 2 years ago was using multiple satellite images of an area:
1 or more top down pictures of the area, plus usually a 4-way side view of the area... giving "recognizable" quality representations of buildings that were rendered to accurate size.
anyway... yeah..... further explanation concluded.... I was at work when I wrote that quick blurb....
If I remember correctly... companies like Silicon Graphics have been doing this for several years for the military using their reality center systems to analyze satellite photographs of combat zones in real time.
Why is it that neither the Google or Yahoo! desktop search programs index Firefox pages? I mean, Google screwed up the first time by not putting it in, and then Yahoo! still doesn't include it, yet includes all these archaic formats that hardly anyone ever uses anymore. And if people did use them, they wouldn't exactly be the ones you'd see installing this tool in the first place.
but... in all seriousness... for some reason I've been getting call-backs on my resume for the first time in 3 years..... and I'm living in San Diego, CA... which most recently dropped out of the top 10 best performing metro areas due to poor economic growth.... we used to be #1 then #5.... now #16....
so... I don't really know.... but, I guess it's picking up here on some level...
The primary focus of an xfree replacement would obviously be better speed overall. It wouldn't create fragmentation of the linux desktop if it was clearly a faster alternative.

I always notice that the fan never generates a constant noise, because of the dirty power...
now if only I could find my UPS, I'd test and see if it sounds better running off the UPS' clean power....

Since when is Ciso a word?
The Ciso Handbook
they would end my probation early!
good point. but, another good way would simply be to put it all on microfiche ;)

this seems like an incredibly stupid and public way of locking customers into paying for information they were already previously getting for free.
Hopefully no more companies in the industry will follow
