  2. Someday Idiots Won't Write This Drivel on Someday You'll Hate Apple (And Google Too) · · Score: 1

"You must not remember the days when everybody loved that scrappy upstart Bill Gates." You have no idea what you're talking about!!! People "loved" Bill Gates and Microsoft because they didn't know any better. Tech was "new" to the media and most people in the 90's. They flocked like lemmings to what the big box suppliers were selling. People didn't think they just purchased. If you would have looked back at any time you'd see Microsoft using the exact same predatory practices it always has in its quest to OWN the world. You'd also see Apple, either with or w/out Stever Jobs, doing what they've always done trying their best to CHANGE the world. Google to green horned to make a comparison to. So, just because you were a lemming and regret "loving" Microsoft (ah, poor guy sold his soul to satan) an article like this means nothing if neither Apple or Microsoft has actually changed their corporate drivers since their birth!!

  4. Re:Enterprise Central Management on Hi, I'm a Mac, and I'm Your Enterprise Computer · · Score: 1

You sound like every other fat, lazy & uninspired IT person out there...you have no idea what you're talking about yet you feel compelled to comment in these forums as if you do. Sorry, that last bit wasn't necessary but I grow tired of all the blind ignorance.

FYI - There are MANY ways to remotely manage a Mac. First there's Apple's relatively rich Remote Desktop. Costs $$ and requires another Mac to admin. Useful for managing LARGE numbers of Macs. Second, there's the freely available VNC. Can admin from just about anything...gives you access to remote Mac's screen. Not recommended if you're managing dozens, hundreds and certainly not thousands of Macs as things would get tedious...but certainly manageable for a small number of machines. Third, you ever heard of a command line? No, not a DOS prompt but a full blown command line? Yes, Mac OS X runs UNIX so you can ssh into any box that is thusly set up so. There are MANY other management solutions as well (and iChat will do screen sharing Mac OS X 10.5) but these are the 3 biggies.

My advice to you...GET A MAC and use it before you blindly slam it for something that just isn't true...and hasn't been true for a loooong time.

  5. Re:Good for them! on US University Dumps Windows to go All Mac · · Score: 1

No! A lot of "generic" designers have switched over to "generic" workstations. The low-end budget-conscious dime-a-dozen "designer" might be comfortable on the PeeCee but every single designer worth his/her/its salt has either stuck with or returned to the Mac platform. For reasons that if you don't quite yet understand by now then you probably never will...

But you keep right along making statements like this...cuz ignorance is bliss, eh?

  6. Re:Hahahaha on Apple's Macworld Looking To Corporate Users · · Score: 1

Perhaps you're correct...but no matter where you live on this tiny planet, life IS short! You can spend your precious time and, apparently, precious few dollars monkeying around with all Microsoft's BS...OR you can get back to really enjoying your computer and all the new things it enables you to do every passing week or so. Remember those days?!? They were called the 1970's & 1980's (perhaps you weren't even born?!?) Anyway, there is a new renaissance going on in computing and it's happening in Mac OS X and Linux...you can choose (albeit with your wallet) to be a part of this renaissance or continue your long slow slog toward conformity and inconsequence. No offense but life IS better on the other side.

Just for the record we have a "Rock Solid" installation of OS X Server...been running non-stop without a hint of trouble since 10.1 (that's 3 years now!). Only time it ever needs a re-boot is after a 10.x.y system software update which come from Apple roughly every month or two. And though we aren't first adopters of those updates we do try to keep it current. We aren't using it for netboot as you have but it is handling all the file sharing, e-mail, http, LDAP/Open Directory, DNS, & Firewall...for roughly 20 users...

They're obsolete...cry all they want...they didn't come up with ANY of the technology to make this happen so why do they think Apple owes them ANYTHING?!?
