Oh, you mean right now! It's a movie quote from Repo Man. The lobotomized scientist driving around with dead aliens in his trunk says it to Emelio Estevez.
I love it when religious zealots mod me down. It's further proof that they cannot address facts. Instead they use their mod points, call names, repeat the same logical fallacies ad naseum, misrepresent the facts, resort to discredited rhetorical tactics, or pull out the old story of "RMS and the Print Driver", as if that were the day that God revealed The Truth to RMS and the Spirit of The GPL entered into him.
For the record, GPL 2 is a great license. OSS is a great methodology. Just leave the religion and spirituality out of it please. If I wanted that, I'd go to church or temple or a mosque or just get drunk and dance naked on the street corner under the full moon.
I know I shouldn't be, but I am still amazed that they give mod points to retards. I've drunk the koolaid since 1992 (I think. The early 90s are a haze of drugs, booze, hookers, and quadras), and I've got the fucking right (dammit) to make fun of Steve Jobs, Apple, and the Macintosh.
I'd like to think this is just WMF fucking with me in a friendly way, or that I'm important enough to have a mod troll stalking me, but the sad truth is that some Mac users are Mac users because they're mentally deficient.

What's funny is that the hoodlums that hung out in arcades (me among them) were considered anti-social types. And you're right, it was a place to buy pot or whatever, but usually not the best place. More of a last resort.
Screen burn? Not as bad as the cigarette burn. Seriously, did you ever walk up to your favorite game to find out someone had been resting their lit cigarette on the control plane? I'm a smoker, but I still found it highly annoying. Sometimes you'd see a Japanese import that actually had a built in ashtray.
This is what makes the problem so complex with any feature rich device and it's also why it's been frustrating that so little attention has been paid to the problem. Take a camera or camcorder as an example. Many models have a plethora of features, but most of those features are buried in the menu system, which actually makes the features worse than dysfucntional. You could miss an opportunity because you're distracted by the menu system. OTOH, too many buttons and control surfaces are also a problem, especially on small cameras. I've even seen some digital cameras that have similar controls to the old film cameras for some of the most basic functions. (notably the Panasonic/Leica Lumix series. A Zeiss lens! Yum!).
Anyway, it's a very challenging problem and there is not one size fits all solution for either the devices or the users. Apple might not have the best solution for everyone, but they're at least (one of the companies) setting an example of how to approach the problem.
Actually, I think the percentage of iPhone purchases for purposes of resale (ebay, etc.) was a lot more than 20%. From an informal survey I did at the line at the Pasadena Apple Store, I'd put the figure at 40% for resale and 10% was "for someone else", but not for the purposes of making a profit. So I don't find AT&T's figure troubling for the iPhone.
However, I want a few dedicated buttons for important functions like volume, power, and send/hang up. I take it you're not a big fan of dragging your call to the trash when you're done talking.
Oh and by the way last time I checked Steve Jobs hasn't "developed" anything hardware or software in many many years, this is why his job title says CEO instead of developer, engineer or something similar. What? You've never heard of the one buckle mouse? That was Steve's idea. Or zippers used in elevators? That was Steve's, too. However, I think his greatest contribution to computing was replacing the keyboard with velcro. That was genius.
It's not a conviction unless a contract/license violation is considered a crime in Germany. They simply lost the civil case and were found in violation. That's pretty much it. Hopefully we'll see more lawsuits against other companies such as TiVO.
Hopefully there's some monetary reward in this and that it will teach Skype and others a big lesson. Tivo hasn't violated their license. Where did you get the idea that Tivo did any such thing? Tivo has complied from day one with GPL 2. Don't be freetarded and don't repeat FHF (Free Hardware Foundation, now that they've changed their mission) misinformation.
What a freakin' jerk. If it makes any difference, while I don't agree with you that unmanned Mars exploration is a waste of tax payers' money, I don't think you should be attacked or harassed for your opinion. As a token of my support, I won't refer to you as Feminist-MILF (in my mind) for the rest the of the day. =)
OK, that was immature, but at least it wasn't at the same level as that stupid AC.
You're saying that Spirit and Opportunity are going to break up? That's like, uh, Captain with no Tenile. Or Steely with no Dan. I bet it was that bitch, Mars Express Orbiter. I never trusted her.
OK, you make a fair point. I was assuming that Wii development costs will be lower, and that's a hasty assumption. Still, if the cost threshold for development is low (which I admittedly don't know for a fact), there will be more competition, making mega budget investments in single games riskier. However, if we look for parallels in Hollywood, the resurgence of low budget and indy films hasn't really slowed or decreased mega budget movies. When a movie hits, it generally really hits, making the risk worth it.
A very likely possibility is that he is a stock trader or working for a stock trader that stands to make money by moving the stock up and down by a point or two. Or it could be that he took some stupid advice and shorted Apple, and is desperately trying to push the price down.
Regarding Mac worms . . . Mac OS X isn't a very good disease vector. This isn't the security thru obscurity argument. It's the platform as transmission medium/host. For a virus to spread rapidly, you need a certain percentage of the population to be vulnerable. If a platform makes up 5% of the overall market, it's not a very viable target for a worm. The Mac marketshare is small enough that I'm not going to sweat it if the claim ever pans out.
This is also why heterogeneous computing environments are inherently safer, whether in your business, your school's computer lab, or on the internet at large. If the market were divided up fairly evenly by three, four, or more OSes, worms would be much less of a threat. Heterogeneity makes for robustness. Just ask a geneticist.
Yes. I could.

I thought you were exaggerating, but I gave up after page 2. Bleh.
Since the story was submitted by Esther Schindler, can we call this Schindler's List?

It's context sensitive and it depends on whether your call is file or a mountable volume. =)

I'm waiting for the iWatch Shuffle myself, but then I like to live dangerously.
And unpunctually.

Unfortunately, part of that redundancy was to have the colo in the same building! Oy vey!
Another thing. Don't stir the tanks. You could have a bus bar overvoltage. Then you start venting oxygen and lose gimble lock.
It's only a matter of time before they're rounded up. The Iranians have sent in their top agent.
Just make sure you build your data center out of bricks and not straw or wood.

You laugh, but I'm getting to work converting my mechanical pencil into a nano arc welder. OK, you can laugh at that, too.
I'll make you a deal. I'll stop waving it around if you go put some pants on, grandpa.
I was also thinking about the dvd player in your kitchen.
Actually, I was wondering if this exploit had anything to do with having to drag your call to the trash to hang up.
