Well... we're far more likely to find an extra-terrestrial settlement on a planet where it'll still be there (in theory) each time we check, then trying to look for the Battlestar Galactica or the Katana Fleet or whatever.
Since there is no MLB team, it doesn't really matter.
Well, since people in Portland and Multnomah County in general are trying pretty dang hard to get an MLB team, I'd say it does matter.
For those saying that Portland is trying to get an MLB team, even if they did, it wouldn't go here.
I don't know on this point. It will take time to get a stadium, expecially since the people advocating for a MLB team to come to Portland are using as one of their points that a stadium wouldn't be paid for by the taxpayers. This means that for a time the Expos would most likely have to play at PGE Park, for at least a little while.
Also, Portland is pretty much out of the running for the Expos.
Where did you hear this? I would like a source please.
Tickets for the minor league ball played in PGE park are dirt cheap. Few people I know have even attended a game.
However, that can be, in part, chalked up to the fact that the Portland Beavers are a Minor League team, and thus wouldn't have the same feel, really, as watching Major League Baseball. If you recall, when the Mariners played at PGE Park, the game was sold out in minutes (including the cheap seats).
I think low quality video coming out of this stadium would be watched by approximately 0.000 people.
Would anyone download low-quality video of any baseball game at any stadium off of the internet when they could watch the game on TV, or download a rip or bootleg of the network broadcast of the game off of P2P software?
Most local libraries have CDs avalable for checkout. So, what you do is take the CD's you want home and rip the songs you want.
You don't have to worry about being caught under the Patriot Act because they're not really worried about music, and for the RIAA to catch you would be like finding a needel in a haystack, because there are lots of people who buy CD's from the libary without ripping from them.
Thus, you can vote with your wallets, and get those few songs that you liked off of the radio off of (insert-band-here's) latest album without worring about being sued.
Also, since we're during the summer time, you can check out Garage Sales for the albums you want on either CD or Cassette. If they're on Cassette, you can download the music and claim you're backing up an legitimate copy. If they're on CD, you're getting the album for cheap and the RIAA isn't seeing a penny of your money.
Let's not forget the fact that during the election Al Gore was infamously extremely stiff. I wonder, if Gore's appearance on SNL was before Election Day, and it was just as good, or at least humorous as his appearance after the election, if it might have netted him a few more votes in those close states that Bush won.
I was wondering, does anyone know where I can find the full text of this bill. I have several questions about how it is worded, and I would like to lay those questions to rest for I make any serious comments about the bill.
I am against it (the bill), but I want to make sure that my points for my arguements are valid.
And I'm assuming their friends and family would have been told about it from their friends and family, and so on. Things don't work that way. It is rare when enough people live in a certain radius who all know the propietor of a business or who has some link through friends and relatives to the propietor of a business, in sufficent numbers to support said business. Advertising is a fact of life, so long as goods and services are exchanged, and a society is at a level where there people who can work as artisans and so forth, instead of farming, soldiering, or being engaged in a profession that supports the other two.
Um... just so you know, PDF is referring to the document that's being linked to (as it's a PDF document). From the sounds of things, the acronym for this new service would be either IPP (In Person Proofing) or PIC (Personal Identity Certification).
I have to agree with your statement that PBS isn't state-run. Public broadcasting is depending on making money from pledge breaks anymore. That's why there's been a major increase in membership drives? If the government cut funding entirely because they were upset with some programming, Public Broadcasting could try to get more in sponsorships and go to monthly pledge drives. There are several stations here (in Oregon) that aren't part of PBS that get most of their money from pledges. No kidding.
I agree. I could very easily burn up that 1gb aday by going to an website such as www.animemusicvideos.org and downloading two videos as most of them are about 50 mbs because they are usually in.WMV,.mpg, or.MOV format, as opposed to fansubs which are often DiVX files.
Far more likely that it's really hot and'll burn the skin right off your hand. Plus there was that massive smoking scorch mark on the ground I saw on the news, possibly from the impact of hot fuel (at least, that's what it looked like).
If I recall, he didn't have quite as much material in the second book to be intimidating with, but then again I haven't read Two Towers in a long time.
Well, part of what makes a good movie good is a few (but not too many) riffable scenes. When I first saw First Contact I found occasion to make a few gangster film rifs and a Terminator riff at a couple (obvious) parts.
Well, frankly, for Saruman, he's not necessarily actually supposed to be physically intimidating. Christopher Lee is a good actor and does great villians, just not physically intimidating one: or would you rather Vin Diesel or Russell Crowe played Saruman?
I should make a correction: I am referring to your beef with the film spoiling the movie. Some of those things may be corrected when the Extended Edition DVD will be put out. Keep in mind, if they made it completely true to the book, they'd have to put in an intermission so that the audience could have a bathroom break.
FYI, you're supposed to do spoiler space for this sort of thing, or do a first post saying "Next post contains spoilers", and then reply to yourself.
However, that's kind of moot in this case because IMHO, your post is bullshit.
Where will the 4th movie go? Simple, redemption of the world, or at least the beginnings of the establishment of civilization.
Though, they should really cast someone other than Mel. My vote's for Russell Crowe. He can do the action kind of role, he's got the right build, and he's Australian.
My apologies, I ment to reply to anthonyrcalgary. Mia Culpa.

As the article said, the site was pulled at the behest of law enforcement. That's why the site won't load. It hasn't been /.ed.
RTA, the Law Enforcement shut it down, not /.

I don't think that word means what you think it means...

Here in Oregon we've had 10 digit dialing for about a year in the Portland/Metro Area. I'm suprised that it took New York City this long to get to it.

They may have shot those scenes, but like with the gift giving, it'll probably be on the Extended Edition DVD.

I'll add one more to the list. Portland Oregonian (yellow).
