I know you're trying to be funny, but it seems true, there's a lot of stuff that included with Linux that makes me wonder what Microsoft is spending all their time on. How about include multiple desktops as a default feature, and not some powertoys thing that doesn't work too well. How about include a good command line, I can't believe they took out Monad. How about not crippling the FAT32 file system by only allowing partitions of 32 GB. How about adding support for other file systems. NTFS is good, but not the best solution for everyone. They get everybody mad by adding features like web browsers, media players, and virus scanners that shouldn't even be part of the "operating system", when they have a lot to add that they could add to the operating system that would make people's lives a lot easier.

It's Ottawa (Specifically the new Walmart on terminal Ave.). Ottawa has about 1 million people, and 3 or 4 Walmarts. That's not a lot to go around. I don't know if the US is getting more or less than Canada. If you add up all the stores that are getting Wiis, and assume they are all getting the same number, then there's probably going to be less than 200 in the entire city. That's going to create some major demand.

Just for anecdotal evidence, I asked the guy at the Walmart electronics counter how many Wiis they were getting in. He said 7. Then I asked about PS3. He said they were getting 3. Either way, it's pretty low numbers to expect to get either one at launch, although it's interesting to know that they are getting more than twice as many Wiis.

Those numbers are both pretty much the same. About .8 cents. I don't think they want to have people dealing with fractions of a penny, just as they won't want people dealing with fractions of a Yen. Also, as i've mentioned, iTunes sell for 99 cents in canada, same price as they are in the states. It's not a question of cost at this point, but rather what people think is a good price. So a 2000 point card would cost $20 + Tax. I live in Ontario, so that comes to $22.80

I'm not sure that they'd have to relicense anything for those games. They already have a license to sell that game, and since they are selling the exact same game, I don't think there would be anything to worry about. Also I think a lot of these studios would love to have their old games put out the games again if they received a little something in return. There's a new TMNT movie coming out, they could create a lot of hype by telling people to go download the old games for their Wii. Although I hated the Original TMNT game for NES. Despite owning it, I never could beat it.

They wouldn't do 1.2 cents or something like that, because it would be too confusing to the people. iTunes cost 99 cents in Canada, so i imagine that Nintendo would do the same thing to avoid confusion.

I'm not sure if people will not buy the new titles because they're buying old stuff. It really depends on the price. I'm not sure how much 500 points cost, but I'd probably rather play a new Zelda game than play the original Zelda again. Although the original Zelda is fun, I've played it too much, and it's too easy to beat (even the second quest). I wonder if they will ever put out another Zelda game with a second quest...

Mario Bros. despite it's classic appeal isn't much fun as far as I'm concerned. There's a lot of games that would draw a lot more sales. It definitely isn't worth the same price as The Legend Of Zelda. I think they need to rethink their pricing on the virtual console. It seems to me like all games from the same console will be the same price. This is the iTunes approach that I don't like. There's many games on Nintendo that aren't worth the same as the must have titles, but that I'd still buy if I could get them at a cheaper price. With iTunes, There's a ton of songs I won't buy because I don't think they're worth a dollar, but I would definitely buy them for 25 cents.

It is very feature rich, and even offers a few things that I wish were available under KDE, such as gather, sticky, and bringing a window to your current desktop with 2 clicks. It's very stable, and the only problem I've had is that sometimes when you switch desktops you end up with a different window on top.

I usually keep about 10 windows (+8 tabs in firefox) open, with 2-3 windows on each desktop, and using two monitors. I find it much faster to switch to the right desktop than to alt-tab through the 10 windows to get to the one your want to, or to reach for the mouse and click on the window.

We would still all be using 9600 baud modems if anything faster resulted in errors in the transmitted information, and there was no error correction.
