The XBox 360 isn't giving you anything that they couldn't have given you on the XBox, except better graphics. More crap on XBox live could have been done with the old system. Custom soundtracks could have been done the new way, streaming, on the old system. Maybe with a little software upgrade. They aren't giving anything new excepty shiny graphics. Myself, I'm waiting for the revolution. At least Nintendo is trying to be innovative. All the other guys are just piling on more processing power and memory, and making their machines cost a mint.
I believe his actual name ends up being Thrillhou. Maybe there's not "u", I can't remember, but I do remember that he can't enter the entire name. As is the case with most video games.
They could learn something from the Tony Hawk franchise. When I was playing that game a lot, I could restart a run without even seeing the menu. It became almost instinctive. It's nice to be able to do common funcitons without having to wait 3 minutes for the menu to come up.
I've noticed this a lot with copy protected CDs. Most the the time they seem to be artists that a very small percentage of the population listen to. The only artist I see on the list that is even somewhat popular is Our Lady Peace.
Many times in bad weather such as snow storms, satellite TV goes out. Will digital broadcasts have the same problems? With analogue, it sometimes gets a little hard to make things out, and sounds a little staticy, but in the even of an emergency, you can still get the information across. With digital TV, when the signal starts getting lost, you often lose the entire picture and sound.
What happens in 2009 when everything is supposed to be digital, and Canada still hasn't gone digital. Will it cause interference in places close to the border? I haven't heard of any plans for canada making the switch.
I had this barber once who used to wear a collared shirt and tie to cut hair. It was his weekend job. He explained to me that he didn't mind wearing stuff like that when it was his choice. During the week he worked for the government. His boss always wanted him to wear a tie to look more professional. He wouldn't do it because they wanted him to.
There is no problems with linux pumping out binaries for x86, x86-64, PowerPC, ARM, and a multitude of other architectures. Why does windows only run on 1 type of processor? Wouldn't they have a much bigger market segment if the allowed you to run it on a larger variety of hardware? Microsoft used to have an Alpha version of NT. Did nobody want it? or was it just so bad that nobody could use it? This move will make more people shy away from upgrading their MS software. Software upgrades usually aren't *that* expensive, but if you have to upgrade your servers just to upgrade your software, then a lot less people will be doing it.
Even if those are the real prices, it's still way too much for people who are living on minimum wage, especially when free as in beer alternatives are available.
What about accessability of those who can't afford to spend $500 on an office suite, and $200 on an operating system. I'm aware of the real meaning of accessiblity, but lets take a look at the real problems. By sticking with a closed format, you're making the document way less "accessible" then if it is in some open format. Open formats also allow anyone who wants to to make a more accessible application. With a closed format, it will only be as accessible as microsoft wants to make it.
Will the supercomputer have a GUI? And will each node be required to run a GUI? That's one thing that I never liked about windows. Even your webserver and database servers have to waste resources running a GUI, even though it's perfectly possible to run such machines without a gui.
Exactly. With microsoft usually charging per processor, the cost of building a super computer could go through the roof. Not to mention that they will probably build in limitations like maximum 4 processors, and to use more, you'll have to buy the enterprise edition, and spend 3 times as much per processor.
The problem is, is that a lot of people don't want to buy the music online. Sorry, but you don't feel like you are getting much when you can download songs of the exact same quality for free. When I buy a CD, I feel like I'm getting something. I'm not restricted as to which devices I can play it on, and I have something I can put on my shelf. With digital music, it becomes a little better once you have unencumbered formats like MP3 or OGG, but none of the popular, marketed services use these formats. But you still end up nothing but a bunch of bits. By avoiding the entire distribution channel, and not getting any physical media, you should by paying much less than.99 a song.
The problem is, is that if they put products that aren't real on the show then they look really fake. Shows lose their illusion when they start putting fake pop cans on TV. Really it's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If you don't put products on, people might not be able to relate to the show. How do you make the pottery barn joke, without mentioning pottery barn. If you do put them on, people start complaining that you are advertising in the middle of the show.
Too bad you can't get windows to run on one of these things, or any microsoft software. The fact that they usually charge per processor would really be make the software a lot cheaper to buy. Just think, 1 processor that acts like 32. Anyway, it doens't matter since most of their software doesn't support that many processors to begin with. Stupid built in limits and all.
Why does everything that's not based on war and street gangs automatically get passed off as being for kids? Super monkey ball is monkey rolling around in a ball, which sounds a little kiddy, but most of the adults I know who've played it just love it. Same with all the other "Kiddy" games that are available for GC. Just because they look like something from your childhood, doesn't mean you won't enjoy them. It doesn't really mean that it's kiddy either. Mario looks like a cartoon, but is very involved, and makes you use your head lot. It's not a game that most children would be able to play easily.
But the PS2 sold the most units by a long shot for the last generation. And it was the least technologically advanced. The technical abilities of a system have nothing to do with how well it will sell.
I've heard that the revolution is going to have VGA out. I'm not sure if this is true, or what resolutions it will support, but it will be nice. I'm not interested in buying a hi-def tv just to get hi-def games. I already own a monitor capable of some very high resolutions. And if i'm sitting 3 feet from it, it doesn't have to be 60 inch, 19 is enough at that distance.
The one thing I noticed about windows is that Admin isn't even a true super user account. My friend set up his drive as NTFS, and started messing around with the permissions on some files. He actually managed to get some files into a state that that not even the administrator could read, write, or even change the permissions on the files. What's the point of a super user account if you don't have full power to do everything. The files were completely useless, and he couldn't do a thing about it from windows.
I've tried a 4x4x4 cube after I got bored with the 3x3x3. Once you figure out the patterns (or look them up online) it gets really easy, and you can do it in about 5 minutes, without even trying to go fast. The 4x4x4 is much harder, and doesn't really work the same way as a 3x3x3. I've decided that i'm not going to look up the answers with the 4x4x4, so it's taken me a long time, and I still haven't figured it out actually, and it has been a few months.

Nah, I just use command line ftp to download Firefox. It's kind of easy. Kind of feels nice to be able to install Firefox without ever touching IE.

I think that a lot or guys would get kind of nervous when being questioned by a hot chick. This will cause a lot of false positives.

Just install Skype on it. It is running linux after all.

The owner of the files was Administrator. But for some reason, he couldn't change anything about them.

Of course it's a word, it means without lack of regard. Everyone knows that.
