Why don't they all pool their money together to make a new Star Trek series that doesn't suck, rather than support Enterprise; the reason why Enterprise is failing is because it's not a good show.
If people are willing to pay for the show, I wonder why the studios don't just release the show a la carte over the net or something? Perhaps shows that have a niche with a strong interest should ditch the advertisement model and just charge per show, or sell subscriptions to the series...
For myself and many other college students, MySQL was a great system to play with SQL and experiment on. It's easy to setup on most systems, and it's also fairly easy to use (not to mention free). Don't get me wrong- I've used other systems that are much better than MySQL, but without MySQL to get my hands dirty, I'm not sure I would have bothered with anything else.
Kirsten looked much hotter in the first one- maybe it's just because I've got a thing for redheads- I heard that in the first movie she wore a wig, but she dyed it for this one; I think the wig looked more red.
For some companies it's worth the $1000 to register their domain for 100 years so they don't need to have someone worry about it. Granted, it takes 5 minutes to renew your domain, but if they save some money on top of that, it's totally worth it. (Not to mention $1000 is nothing to most companies)
This is very true; I used to work for S*NY, and they wouldn't repair foreign laptops at all- let alone honoring the warranty. Just be prepared to pay the overseas shipping if you have problems or make sure dell has a good warranty policy.
Well, the good news is we all have access to encryption software-- but then again, the govt may already have quantum computing or something. Yeah, we're all screwed.
I'm getting to that point now too- b is good enough for most home users seeing as their internet connection is probably crap anyway. Maybe we should hear more about range than speed- that's what I have problems with.
A vaccine is not something that stimulates the immune system with antigens, but rather an administration of pathogens which enable the immune system to deal with the illness. I invite you to look at the definition as defined at Dictionary.com.
A true HIV vaccine would be given to individuals so that if they were to be exposed to HIV, their bodies would be able to fight off the virus.

There are different types of Sign Language, even within the United States. For example: the sign language which you see interpreters using is not necessarily the same 'dialect' Deaf people use when talking to eachother. The type which interpreters use is much easier to interpret into English than the ASL that Deaf people use.
As far as Grammar goes, the grammatical structure of Sign Language is much simpler than that of English and other languages. The biggest grammatical difference would be word order. For example- you may say, "I posted to Slashdot last week". Literally signed, this may be "I Posted slashdot week last".
In any case, this is a great step towards independence for Deaf people in a hearing world.
Unless you plan on wasting your 4+ years at college sitting in dorm room playing computer games, this is probably sufficient. I've also found that it's nice to run (or have access to) a server to throw your stuff onto while you're running around campus.
I think this does belong here; while I'm not a "Buffy" fan, I do realize that many members of the target audience would be interested in this story. The theme of this site is News for Nerds. Stuff that matters. While a story on Buffy may not be part of Stuff that matters, it could surely fit with News for Nerds. If there's a different theme for the site that I don't know about, I'd be interested to know what it is.
I believe they did something like that with Army of Darkness, I had a roommate who had many copies of the trilogy because they kept coming out with new Special Editions. Of course, it would be a good idea for the Matrix franchise to do the same thing if they want to make lots of $.

Hey Farva; what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the shit up on the walls?

I heard they're planning to use The Sentinel as an antenna FR

From the state who wants to ban the use of "Master" and "Slave" in hard drive designations... God I hate California
Whoops, guess not. That rocks then.

I'm in Rochester- my work has power, but not much else. My server at home went out, so I'm assuming power is out there too.

Al Biles from RIT has been working with genetic algorithms to do jazz solos.
Here's a link to information on his genetic algorithm, GenJam.
