Yeah and next we will all have to have the proper papers to fart. Let me ask you this. Since Sept 11 and the Patriot Act went into effect, are you or do you feel anymore secure? Does it make you sleep better at night knowing that the FBI can knock down the door of a suspected terrorist in the middle of the night? Your door in fact. Should your paper boy get pissed because you stiffed him last week on his tip and dropped a dime, told some agency that he has seen plans in your house of building blueprints. And they kicked in your door. Pulled your family out of your house at 3 am at gunpoint, this makes you safe? Statistically you have a greater chance of being eaten by a shark than ever encountering a terrorist. Personally I would rather live with the terrorist threat, than lose the freedoms that my father, and those before him fought for. Don't confuse false security with real security. Welcome to the new police state. They are watching us all.
Galileo International and Sabre, also gave sensitive passenger information, including home phone numbers, credit card numbers and health data, without disclosing the transfers to travelers or asking their permission.'"
Is a direct violation of the Grahm Leech Bliley Act which states that any private information may not be released to third parties without the persons prior notice. The only time it may be given out is if there is an investigation into that individual. Seeing as how several airlaines gave it to the TSA I wonder who authorized that information to be released? Had I flown with them then and found this out, the requesting agency had better have the proper authorization, or I would damn sure file a class action lawsuit against the TSA and the airline.
The RIAA actually grew a heart and let people download the music unitl their hearts content. I mean sure record sales would probably remain intact, for the most part at least. Sure that over paid record exec whose ass is wider than a Wide Trak Pontiac Grand Prix would have to find another job, but hey even leeches, and vampire bats won't suck a host dry. These record execs need to get some kind of marketable skill. I'm sure that some rich person somewhere needs to hire an overpaod ass kisser. To the RIA I say kiss my ass. I won't stop downloading music. You can sue all the people you want, but you won't catch me! If you by some miracle stop P2P, big deal. You stopped Napster and three other P2P stepped into it's place. You gonna stop FTP servers too? God knows I have grabbed more than one cd title from an FTP server. What about radio? I have an audio tuner in my pc, I can also record from it and burn cd's, you gonna shut down the airwaves? Get a clue guys. Going after users that download music is retarded at best. You should join the wagon and start your own P2P service and charge people a flat fee to download and still charge companies to advertise through your network. This could also boost your record sales. I could see it now, I hop on to grab the latest whatever the hell is out on the radio now, and spot an ad asking me if I want to buy this cd online. You make money from the fee I pay to be able to download legally, you make money from the advertisers, and you make money from online record sales. It's win, win. Get with the program fellas. Stich up those deep pockets to make em a little shallower, and you won't have to spend more money per year sueing John Q. for pennies, when you stand to make more supporting the movement.
Well when they finish mapping the Human Genome if they get a patent I guess we will have to pay them royalties in order to continue living, or to have children.
One of things the founders of the US held in highest regard was a persons right to freedom of speech. Which ties in to freedom of expression.
As for the hate sites and racist dribble that is on the net, it's everywhere else too. Are you going to censor that?
I am no racist nor do I condone hatred of any group. I say hate someone if they wrong you, and only them not the whole race. These hate groups tend to shoot themselves in the foot when they are allowed to speak. As it gives everyone a chance to hear just how idioc their ideals and beliefs are. It is my belief that by allowing them their platform to get their message across, it allows the world to see them for what they are, uneducated morons. No offense to the morons out there.
There will always be hatred in the world. People will always believe what they choose to, the fact remains that anyone with half a brain can make their own decisions given all the facts. If these groups choose to let someone make their decisions for them, then I say let these sheep lead themselves to the slaughter.
Propaganda Possiblities? What the hell do you think the Army's moniker of "I am an Army of one" is? Do they really expect us to believe that they allow any kind of individuality in the military? In todays military recruits are expected to do two things: 1) complain about the work and little pay 2) in the event of war, die for freedom
I hate to break it to all our military boys and girls, cause god knows I love and appreiciate each and every one of ya for serving, but you are an expendable comodity to our military leaders including your "so called" commander in chief A.K.A. HRIC Head Redneck In Charge.
I play all of my old PS1 games on my pS2 console. I see no point in having to dig out my PS1 just to play a game, that should be compatible with PS2. I think M$ needs to get off the money train. It isn't about compatibility, it's marketshare. When you make a product then improve it in teh next generation implementation yet leave out retro compatability, then there is a problem with your business model. You cut off any developement of the original platform. By this same token according to M$ all our PC games should not be compatible with our current systems. I still play DOOM yes I said DOOM. It would cheese me off to no end if I had to dig out an old i286 to play it.
For what it was intended for... not bieng plugged into a wall constantly.
I don't know about the rest of you, but my laptop craps out after 20 mins of computing. Running no other apps but a programming IDE, no high end graphics just a text editor. All this plus 20 minutes of computing time from a laptop and battery that are supposed to operate for more than 2 hours.
OMFG! Are you people daft? They don't need a fscking loophole. They are the Government. Anyone who believes that Americas "Agencies" ergo police FBI CIA NSA need warrents, writs, or permits to do anything to do you are stupid and niave to infinity. All the bullshit in the Constitution isn't worth the parchment and ink it was written with. Don't get me wrong I believe in this country, and I am greatful for the many who fought, served and died so I could have the rights I have, but our government today is perverted. The rules are bent to suit them and don't apply when their needs can't be met by adhering to them.
Under the recent Patriot Act anyone even your children can be held by the government indefinately under suspision of terrorism. What does that mean, you ask well an example. Let's say that you are watching the news. Oil prices have just been raised for the fourth times in as few months. You make mention of this fact in front of your son or daughter and something about someone should do something about this government. Well the next week at your childs school they are given a test. On this test it asks, "Have you every heard mommy or daddy speak about the government?" Well from this you can be held as a terrorist as defined under the Patriot Act. What you have done is exercised your RIGHT to speak out against your government and now you are a terrorist. You can chalk this up to me bieng a conspiracy theorist if you like, but the fact remains these questions are bieng asked in schools. Actions can be taken against you because of them as well. You think when you talk on your phone it is private? Yeah and Santa exists! We put these people in power. We let them run without regulation, now it has come to bite us on the asses. We have lost half of the Constitution for a false feeling of security.
I am proud to be American for America is the greatest nation in the world. God bless the U.S.A. Union of Socialist America
As a child my parents often took me there to see the exhibits. I am glad to see that they are taking long needed steps to preserve this icon from the "space race" for future generations.
At JSC it has lain outside the front entrance from sometime, and as a child I remember bieng awestruck at the sheer size fo the bohemoth. The thruster cones are as tall as a house. It is about time they did something to preserve this treasure. *NOTE* Now maybe they will do something about the Seawolf class Sub and Destroyer at Seawolf State Park.
I use SuSe 8.0 Pro @ home. I have used this distro for the last 3 years, with little to no troubles. I have an off the wall brand modem installed in the box, so off the wall I can't get Windows drivers for it. It took me all of 5 mins to install and configure it under Linux. I too had to go the route of Winmodem hell, but found the drivers I was looking for rather easily. My only complaint about bieng online with Linux, my ISP doesn't support Linux. So after 45 minutes online, active or not, I get knocked off which has never happened under Windows. I have asked tons of people why this happens and no one seems to have an answer. So I assume it is something to do with my ISP living in a dreamworld where every customer uses Windows.
I have struggled with programming concepts for years. One day I happened upon The Art of Assembly by Randall Hyde. Up to this point I had spent countless hundress of dollars on various teach yourself books, even some texts that were used to train programmers at one time ( the Knuth series ). Yet the basic concepts of programming eluded me. I knew how to declare variables etc... yet I couldnt grasp how to design my program. Enter AoA, of all things this free text opened the door and all the texts I had read previously clicked. Everything seemed to fall into place. After a year I am still learning to program, but have since begun on different languages and platforms. I sent Mr. Hyde an email thanking him. I was surprised when he replied. Needless to say his text had inspired me to learn ASM. Though with modern compilers it isn't necessary to know ASM, I have found it useful.
In the field of Quantum Physics I would like it to be known that I have created an algorythm that proves unequivicably that time travel, and wormholes can be created using these items:
a slightly used toothbrush
a toothpick
an old dogs frisbee ( note the frisbee age does not matter )
a bubblegum wrapper ( bubbilicious works best )
one cracker
an old on button Zenith remote control for a b & w tv
I will refrain from posting the algorythm since, the math I use to solve the equation may differ from the math you use to solve the equation.

This is the 3rd battery also.
Topical to today?
I can see Patrick Stewart now Worf arm Photon Torpedos.
Prepare to fire on Al Queda of Omicron Badr.
WORF! Belay that order, they pulled into a Mosque.
Look at the backgrounds Picard played by Stewart a Sheakespearean actor and Sam played by Scot Bakula of Quantam Leap fame.
Ok who wanted to compare apples and oranges?
HAHA Teal'c with hair. YEAH right! And O'neil will stop with the one liners I bet. Though I guess they did bring Daniel Jackass back.
One more FEKKIN Star Trek spinoff! How bout doing something useful! Like getting Farscape back!

"Your home liquid calcium levels are low. Please pause at the grocers and aquire more."
Does this patent 6,611,862 cover trojans?
You want to impress the critics? I have one word,
PAYOLA!!!!

I would say the major factor keeping me off Windows is KERNEL32.DLL!
50,000 points for the pun about "YOUR COMPANY WILL" be at your funeral. That was a good one mate.
Bring a few wireless phones in the 2.4 ghtz range, they should create enough line noise to kill any connection.
