Maybe most women don't want into the IT field for the same reason most men aren't too keen being nannies?

  7. Original Alien 3 Screenplay on New "Terminator" Trilogy Planned · · Score: 1

The original screenplay for Alien 3 brought them to Earth. For some reason, it was dropped and the crappy prison story was used instead. It may have been for bugetary reasons. Sigourney took over as executive producer.

The following may have been the original screen (written by William Gibson): http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/film/alien3scr ipt.html

They were so close to making the original screen play that toys were made based on it. The aliens take on some of the properties of the host. It's why the alien in the produced version ran on all fours, it was from a dog. Here's a bull-alien that was made into a toy: http://www.actiontoys.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?S creen=PROD&Store_Code=123&Product_Code=ALIENK-06C

I agree though, having them come to Earth would kick ass.

And that's why I like Ubuntu. It really does just work. For me, anyway.

    I've tried Linux several times:
1997: Slackware - Back in the day, this was like brain surgery.
    2000: Redhat - PRM hell.
2003: Suse - Several hardware problems and crappy UI.
2006: Ubuntu - Here and loving it.

I loaded Ubuntu with the thought that I could just boot to XP whenever I wanted (dual boot). I haven't logged back into XP yet.

Ubuntu does everything I need "out of the box". The only thing that I added to it was Crossover. It's inexpensive and make managing Windows apps easy and centralized.

I still don't think that Ubuntu is 100% ready for the desktop just yet, but it's damn close.

I also purchased Crossover. Now, under Ubuntu, I run two versions of office (XP and 2003), Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, Photoshop CS, and Amibroker (stock tracking). I was already using FireFox in windows, so that was a no-brainer.

In other words, you don't have to wait. :)

You're stretching the term "neighbours" a bit far. Unless you mean Canada and Mexico.

You're also confusing being at war with others and being at war with your fellow man.

In any case, none of that changes one of the main points that the GP made: unlike a very large part of the world, the US government has remained solvent since its inception and rarely has an American taken arms up against another American.
