I was a PLATO author and user in the mid-80s, starting at the University of Arizona. I worked on physics lessons. Tutor was a pretty straightforward language and pretty powerful, really. We did not have the kinds of tools programmers expect to have now - not even a real version control system. Still, we accomplished quite a lot. And yes, the chat and notesfile functions were easy to use and powerful (and popular).
Agreed. I live in Chandler and the Waymo cars are everywhere. I mean, I see them several times a day. And the article is right, we have wide streets, good weather and few pedestrians.
Agreed. I always liked him, though not pushing into mobile was a grievous mistake. Still, he was the CEO for most of my time at Intel (he left about a year before I did) and it looked like things were going to get nastier under BK (and indeed they have).
Read down in the article. The building was actually completed as a shell in 2014. So there would be plenty of reasons to finish it (buying equipment is hella expensive) and very little incentive to abandon it and move elsewhere.
This is not stagflation. Were you even alive then? This is very different. Stagnation, yes, but inflation is very very low, which is totally not like the Carter years.
Governments are not supposed to sit on large amounts of cash. For large capital expenses they borrow the money (bond measures) so that the people getting the benefits of the expense are the ones paying for it. Otherwise you have today's people paying extra for something they may never get the benefit of, which is not very easy to sell.
The text editor TECO that ran on... TOPS-10, I think, before most of you were born had a fun Easter egg.
To create a file once you started TECO, you'd type "make ". If you typed:
>make love
TECO responded:
?not war?
Not all all. Apple can make firmware so that it only works on this particular phone, and they can modify future phones to prevent this method altogether.
If abortions are such a small part of what PP does then why did those clinics close? Couldn't they just not do abortions ("such a small part") and keep doing the other stuff?
You can enter your own recipes in MyFitnessPal. All you have to do is figure it out once and save it.
For example I have a bleu cheese salad that I make a couple of times a week. Figure out the ingredients and weigh them (I bought a cheap food scale at NewEgg) and it's not that hard. It also has the side effect of making you aware of where your calories are coming from.
I guess I'm a little surprised that someone who is patient enough to actually cook from scratch would then be too lazy to weigh a few items.
Funny, except for all those sex crimes that he left uninvestigated. http://www.azcentral.com/news/...
He is big on every hot-button issue that can get him elected whether it's part of his role (actual crime) or not (immigration). He is a grandstander with an ego the size of Montana.
Guess it's pretty hot :p

While it's true the CDC processors weren't that powerful, they were designed for a lot of I/O throughput so it's not a good comparison.
Agreed but you would then need to say 120 days...

An easy way to reach the large # of Americans that don't actually have bank accounts or credit. Smart.
That and netnews.alt.wesley.crusher.die.die.die
FTFY

We are finding more. http://tucson.com/news/local/e...
Reagan was governor of California. Compared to Trump, he was uber-qualified.

The US landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. I'm not sure what you are referring to.

And if Apple's engineers refuse to comply? What then?
Not all all. Apple can make firmware so that it only works on this particular phone, and they can modify future phones to prevent this method altogether.
You know this how?
For {deity}'s sake, it's TUCSON not "Tuscon".
First post? It'll be interesting to see who else gets on board with this.

Hey be careful. He's the "baron" of bad news after all!
YES. 6809 was a truly elegant design that deserved to have far more success than it did.

First post? Do we really need yet another file server distro?
