    That doesn't solve everything though. Suppose you'd been working at Caldera for the last 5 years. Even if you quit the minute they started the lawsuits, you've still got that name associated with yours.

    I'm a big fan of Justin's work, but I haven't had a chance to read either of those books yet, unfortunately. The Rothbard bio is definately on my "to read" list though.

    Actually neither. Most of my actual knowledge of it came from reading books on my own while I was still in college... particularly those by Murray Rothbard.

    Most of the schools around here won't accept old computers at all (I and some friends even offered to help them sort and fix up donated computers and were turned down).

    I guess they'd rather bitch about not having enough computers and try to pass more and more tax increases to pay for brand new ones than to take a donation for *gasp* the private sector.

    I had to format a FAT32 partition on an SDCard for my Zaurus... I formatted it on a SuSE system with a USB card reader.

    I've been using KDE, but I'm a SuSE user first and a KDE user second. I'll use whichever works best. Seems like with Ximian in the fold, that's going to be Gnome.

    You don't want your kids growing up resenting you and being horribly sheltered. Believe me, I have friends like that and they still won't talk to their parents a decade later.

    If you've been raising your kids properly they should have a decent idea the difference between right and wrong to begin with.

    Give them the benefit of the doubt. That doesn't mean don't keep an eye on them, but don't sit there looking over their shoulder either.

    There's a lot worse stuff in this world than digital images of titties. Better to have your 15 year old rebelling by looking at them than joining some gang of toughs

    In all fairness I doubt they could've whipped this buyout together that quickly. There must've been months of negotiations.

    The RedHat thing might've played into the timing of the announcement, but I'm sure they would've done it either way.
