The article mentions that "But wood, Kuwahata knew, has qualities that could make it a superior choice for sound reproduction. For one thing, sound propagates very quickly through wood, which means that the speaker can produce a wide range of frequencies. Wood also has an internal damping effect, which leads to a smoother frequency response."
However, it doesn't tell us how they actually sound as compared to other speakers. Is there any comparison data out there?
$12B is chicken scratch compared to all the revenue NASA's advances will create. If you compared NASA's budget from it's inception until 1980 againist the money made by all their advances. The price would be moot. The companies who NASA outsourced to are now using what they learned and discovered to create newer and better products.
In highschool we had variations of this rule. It really mattered if you had the first lunch or the second lunch. If you had the first lunch, 5 seconds would be kinda risky, if it was second lunch it'd be a death wish. Normally we'd say it's good if you catch it on the first bounce, otherwise you're plain crazy.:)
Marge: I just made this whole batch of christmas cookies, but since you're not believing in god I guess I'll just throw them away.
*Bart walks in.
Bart: ALRIGHT! Trash Cookies!
*Bart starts eating cookies
Bart: Uh oh, I think I just ate a dog food can lid.
Indie games are great. I love them because their communities are so small and tight-knit. One of my favorite Indie games would have to be Wulfram 2. The game is completely volenter driven. There are more than a few people who have stuck with the developer for as long as five years.
There are some problems with Indie games however, the biggest would have to be support. Alot of these games are struggling to stay alive, and to do so they need to either be pay to play, have a large number of donations, or just simply have a ton of advertisements.
The article doesn't say much on price, anyone know how much it's gonna be? I'm sure 99.99% of Linux users aren't gonna pay it, but there's always that one buisiness that would rather write a check than deal with a law suit.
Beautifull. If the RIAA doesn't agree to the EULA, then they can't prosecute. Then they'd most likely go to court over it, if they lose all ISPs can do this. If they win, EULAs are invalid.
One of the big things that will insure that Linux isn't a "passing through" technology, is that no one company owns it. The source is free to all, allowing a million permiantations. OS/2 wasn't open and free, and one company owned it. They can kill/pull it when they don't see that it's worth it. Linux is different. Right now, I don't think IBM or even Linus could kill/pull Linux.
Police have apprehended cyber terrorist 'michael' in a raid today. Michael is believed to be a part of the infamous group called slashdot. The group took a bold move today, by taking several government servers offline. More news as the story breaks.
TechTV tested a few different types of cards. They dropped them in water, lit them on fire, and even ran over them with a truck. Most types stopped working after getting soaked or fried, but the compact flash card still worked...that is, until they ran it over with a 1 ton truck.

It's probably because of over protective parents. It's amazing how obsessive some of them can get. Expecially the one that sued this dude.

Couldn't IBM just secure a licence from Novell?
