    If said robot can be mass produced in china, then launch them at 100 per day to the moon, if 5% crash , who cares, send more.

    Hmm

    Option 1 : 50 dozen try/catches every where making java slower, and coding more manual.

    Option 2 : If length() returned zero even on a null object, it still is sort of correct, the string is zero sized.

    Coding should be made easier not bloated.

    Should there be 100000000 instances of checking for pointer before calling strlen(), or should strlen() it self check for ptr?

    This is where libc sucks, so just make your own strlen() from libc, as a static strlen(), which behaves nicer. A length of a 'NULL' object, well... yes, it is zero. Its length is not known or undefined which is bloody zero.

    I personally think that the responsibility on checking input args goes to the function, not the caller parent. You cannot delegate that to the caller which can make mistakes, prevent all mistakes in the library itself.

    We are not on a 286 any more. And besides either way, there is a check for the pointer, but as I said its better in the 'black box function'

    There are numerous free and opensourced replacement desktop shells for windows. Some are old linux ports.

    They are good, because they work and run inside the free MS HyperVisor VM. Which boots into a cmd line plain gui, but no shell. Its easy to install these new shells, to create a working desktop thats linux like, but in windows.

    These stupid ass distros who are so hard up and anal, they should be the ones who find all these cool apps and programs, and re-package it up into their REPO servers ASAP, or on the day of the release.

    If conical wants an app store, PUT all the damn cool shit on it. Not old shit, new shit.

    Linux needs a none-distro specific Super Store.

    Click download app - dont ask for what distro I am using, figure it out lame asses. Use a app store client that runs on 5 major distros. And can install app XYZ easily, that doesnt break other apps, and that wont stop and get stupid python errors, coz again some lame ass coded his scripts with 2.6, but fails in 2.7. Fix your shit, stop breaking old shit, stop removing old apis, you want to reduce bloat? then dont package up 167 languages that take 89 megs.

    My only grip about many games, legit or pirated, is that stupid stupid stupid MOFO dickfucks, who still think people run on 1024x768 or 1280x1024 screens, but are TOO dumb, or TOO POOR, to even know that every one has a 16:9 tv , at 1366x768 or 1920x.

    Hey Game coders, how about you just use the same res as what the desktop has. Get a clue bozos.

    You dont have to test for all 1 million resolution combinations, just 4:3 and 16:9 and 2:1 and smart auto adjusting for everything else.

    (Stupid asses at EA, im pointing fingers are you ex-3dworld coders, who didnt grow up with tvs)

    Cloning dropbox shouldnt be that hard, its just a large public file server with de-duplication.

    You could probably make a api clone that works on a linux/samba server.

    Syncing content, well, thats just what rsync does. Not that hard.
