    Each time I got a new laptop, i replaced the 5400's with 7200 XT's hybrids, and I never noticed a battery reduction, you might even get more cache hits, and reduce disk access seeks thus reduce power.

    For big TBs, i would assume 7200s to be made of better quality than 5400s, as googles experience goes, the heat is not such of a big issue.

    Unless a 200 nukes hit usa, then who cares what you had on disk, your toast.

    Between google/MS/apple/dropbox + others, you can amass a combo of 30gig + easy.

    Buy a chromebook and get even more.

    Yes, I too am pissed at crap HDs that die in 12months, or if even idle (power off) for more than a few hours, suddenly die when powered on.

    My SSDs for OS's have been going well for more than 18 months.

    Check the date it expires on, never expire on sunday.

    Or some holiday.

    Oh and we need better notifications, than just an email, or sms, how about a computer TTS voice to call you and speak it to you, "wahh dude, your gona expire in 1 day"

    yeah Ubuntu never had a bug, that would fill up /boot after 15 updates of kernels, it would keep each one there, until /boot was full and couldnt boot.

    Storing H is hard.

    Using solar power or nuke power to create amonia from water+air is far easier to store and old tech.

    And theres bazillions of water and air, you can create it faster than corn.

    C can do anything, but its also like a protoplasm, very simple, low level, needs 80% management code vs business/logic code.

    At least I can get C code, paste it , rename ints to vars, do a few hand fixes, and presto it works. But also that it does look similar to C, not Pascal or LISP or MODULA 2.

    Yes there are things JS could improve on, maybe thats why Google is making DART, maybe that could be the new standard in chrome later, and in Android.

    So why not give COBOL an F, or SQL an F.

    I can always have a real hardware PPC or MIPS based linux or even old Solaris machines used as 'screeners, scanners' to verify the VMs.

    Oh and I could use 2 identical machines that do a complete scan and compare results.

    Why not do it from a ISO booted linux, and nfs share the whole box , so you can sum it from the outside.

    What you really need is all binaryies libs running of a partition that is read only. Kind of like android.

    its not hard to have a 64bit app running, with another 32bit process having its window open inside the 64bit bit apps main window.

    The 32bit plugin can commuincate to the 64bit browser by usual ipc/tcp/windows msgs way.

    Sure its a bit of effort, but stop being lazy, or shall we say, the 32bit plugin people, stop being lazy! make a 64bit ver.

    Or even better, use 8gig of DRAM for a ram disk.

    Any one with access to those juicy docs and getting paid super well, can afford a truecrypt 512GIG SSD pocket drive.

    But to really hide it, just use Zune thats brown, forensics will just ignore it.

    nvidia , oh so many bugs, or is it their hardware is buggy?

    Do I really have to buy a new card every 6 months, because new drivers expose more old hardware bugs or fail to be checked against older cards?

    Why do they still keep selling laptops with utter crap HDs in em.

    First hour I get a cheap laptop home (im not paying 2k dude) I get my $99 hybrid or ssd drive out and clone the internal HD to that, then put it in.

    I dont want a crap 1tb SLOW ass drive, id be happy with just 256gb SSD, or 500gb hybrid. Want more space? Get an external, you arent going to watch 5 weeks of movies unless your shipwrecked.
