    The disc still spins the same direction, inwards or outwards matters zero.

    Nintendo doesnt make dvd motors/firmware/laser diodes, its an OEM component.

    Listen dude, if the licence is $2, and they sold 50m Wiis, then not having a dvd makes them a $100m, any greedy prick that goes to hell would choose the 100m. Easy as piss. Thats the reason.

    Utter utter low cost, zero price reductions, make 500m profit a quarter, become so rich you have 10bbillion in the bank - thats the aim, quality matters zero.

    If i can buy a $29 dvd player that still makes profit, then im sure nintendo can too.

    Or do they really prefer to keep that extra $2 * 50 million units to themselves.

    3 years and still no price drop on a $80 piece of hardware.

    Sure if it sells, keep the price up, but doooods, get this system into more poorer peoples hands who can only spare $150.

    And stop ripping of people outside usa, why does usa get to have all the good prices, or is this a 'we nuked your ass discount price.'

    Name me one other and any piece of electronics which does NOT DROP in price after 3 years.

    As I once had priveledge to convert some documents re logal drugs, the only reason a packet has x MG and 24 tablets for OTC, is that if someone took all tablets in one go, it wont kill them. At least if its Script based, theres a legal record, and accountability.

    Now, its trivial to just buy 3 packets too.

    There is still no reason for stupid school admins (who cant get a job any where else) to stop this girl.

    I remember a case where GM was testing a new car, and fixed it to 100km limit, brand new out of the factory, extra care taken as it was a test car.

    The drove all over the free ways, and toll roads, but got booked for 106km.

    They went to court claimed, DUDE its impossible its locked to 100, your stupid 'revenue cameras' are full of shit BUILT by fraudsters.

    There was another case were they booked a woman doing 160 in a old crap car that could not even go above 90.

    If any nerd programmer out there works for an embedded hardware outfit that programs these cameras, good luck finding a job if any one got booked in the past.

    It wouldnt be hard for the NSA to get intel to implement a cpu based backdoor. Something that doesnt even require cpu ISA to be executed, but a series of coded calculations maybe, like specific crcs in tcp, could trigger some specific windows/unix backdoor to be made open/executed from the CPU. Not hard to add 20-50kb of code inside a rom inside the cpu with no one knowing at all.
    Hell, even including an 2meg netbsd iso inside the cpu is possible. See that giant blob called 8meg cache, maybe 10% of it is really rom but looks identical in a die photo. Its the ultimate unremovable backdoor. Would make sense now why apple uses intel as the would be privy to the details.

    I mean if I ran the NSA, i would have required intel to do this post 2001. Im sure $2-10b from the tax payers can be hidden and secretly used for large intel orders/subsidies.

    Unless you claim russians have access to 300,000 hijacked zombie PCs in USA to use as mount points of attack.

    Even if you usa a satelite phone inside usa by a russia agent/friend to reroute the SSH connection via local ISPs, its still a detectable point by the NSA.

    its too buggy, and just fails in some JS/ formated text boxes. Its a lot slower than chrome after extensive use, not just a quick start up. Though im happy there is an option other than FF/GC too. It will get better.
