    Just stop all the fans on cpu and gfx cards.

    Use 100% cpu, and tax the GFX core.

    Send some hardcore full power commands to all USB devices, or use full IO in usb devices.

    Make the HD seek from end to end for as long as possible.

    Send power save on / off commands real fast to the LCD until it dies.

    Spin the dvdrom up too, or turn on its laser, without a CD in it.

    That baby will melt in minutes.

    In cases like this , the dialog boxes should have a minimum show time before OK is enabled, there by forcing the user to read, but only for serious dialog boxes.

    Again its microsofts fault for not thinking of this feature to be part of all APIs, with one simple parameter. Oh and using a 2x larger red font cannot hurt in the slightlest for serious warnings.

    What possible dependancy of SP3 could firefox need?

    To make code work even in Win2000 is trivial, unless yourequire the latest 1gig of new APIs. Even then stop being lazy, find portable libs to use.

    At least windows GUI api changes are extras, and not changing the core. Old APIs should always work, either by keeping old copies, or by layered emulation.

    Organized criminals should also rent and lease cars, so nothing can be 'repossed' and taken as proceeds of crime.

    All federal taxes go in one column, govt debts in another, both cancel out.

    Therefore zero taxes pay for services and military, its all due to corporate taxes and 'fees'.

    To govt could default on debt, and then say, ok we have no income tax, everyones happy. If you lost 10000s in govt bonds, bad luck, you get to live now tax free.

    The protection I get for a $200k house, is the same as a 2m house. I dont see mansions with police patrol every 2 mins and armed guards?

    The richer you get, the more you can afford to hire your own protection via technology and guards.

    Own a 1m house, you can afford 10 cameras and 2 dogs. Own a 15m house, you can afford 24hr security guards.

    95% of code doesnt need to be top notch in speed, but if your code otherwise is utter god slow, ie, do one operation take 12 minutes where another app takes 2 seconds, then you have some serious shit coders.

    Also if your optimization/geewiz app takes 29hrs to run 24hrs of data, then its obviously not going to get any customers.

    Point is, make it fast where it matters, not everywhere. Just look at itunes, is that written in javascript or quicktime scripting?

    Document and document well if your doing tricky speed optimizations, or keep both slow and fast code together with a flag to run X or Y.
