I'm curious as to how the Patriot Act would relate to any information you would track/collect/store. Even if the information you store is anonymous, it is still a record of *someone* passing by a specific place at a specific time. If the Feds thought someone they were looking for was in that area, could they use your data to try to locate that person?
Just a thought...
In the early 90's, we at work downloaded Scorched Earth from the local BBS and played it during breaks. We had so much fun playing it, we decided that every time we played a game, we would drop a quarter into a box next to the monitor. When the box filled up to the $10.00 (or whatever) the author requested for contributions, we gladly sent him the cash. Fond memories.
I was disappointed with this story - not too much detail or enlightening information about game testers, as the headline would have you believe. At least the/. posts were a good read.

There was no mention of the word "backspace" in that article.
The controls already exist in the steering wheel. How would they be fumbling for their iPods?

Couldn't you call me a convicted motorist if I obtained my drivers license legally but got caught for committing a hit and run?
Regarding the game's darkness, have you tried playing with the gamma correction option? Give that a shot, might help.
According to the Apple web site, the cheapest iPod they are selling is the 10GB for $299.
Or it's like giving the position of Drug Czar to Ed Rosenthal - oh wait, that would be a good thing.
