I still have a bjc 4100. They sell knockoff cartridges at Future Shop for $7(black) and 14(colour). No need for 2^200 DPI for me, I barely ever print anything. My brother uses it to print for school mostly.
I think you want to avoid as much as possible having your users download and install VMs. I have enough trouble trying to explain how to go to Suns site, and navigate through their maze of a website. Also, most people are still on dial-up, and they won't download anything over 10 megs if they don't need to.
