in a room full of computer dorks, someone says things like "don't open your own case and fix your machine..."
!
isn't this what helps to progress the technology?
why does everyone need to stand around like they're our mommys (happy mothers-day btw..!) and hold our hand and tell us "no, don't open your 3k laptop you might break something
No Shit! If you're dumb enough to open the case, and not know what you're doing its your fault. Most lame-ass n00bie computer users aren't going to be poppin' the case on their machines.
argh, i just can't believe all the negitive 'don't do it!' posts
Also, why the fuck do you need a guide to take screws out of a computer? I opened my powerbook two days after i bought it.
or i am easily amused.
plaintext doesn't offer the cute little Outlook fonts and "phone" characters for people's email signatures. How in the world would i be able to tell that it's a phone number, and not just some random digits, in a three-three-four meter?
Yes, all of those are already in place tho. so now rather than using NAVCE 8.0 with managed defination server, we're supposed to find a linux equvalent, because like it or not, glp standards require we have virus protect, whether or not it's a linux box they don't care.
Also "Coperate Lisences" is redudant. it would be "coperate Lisence" as we'd only need one. besides we can have new defintions in norton every 10 seconds, and they're pushed to the nodes.
It's much more costly to restage 50,000 machines to linux and try to train all the monkey's to use them. but as with all the tunnel vision folks, you only see one thing "B3 l33t u53 LinuX because it R0X3Rs!"
/me thinks you'll also never have a job then.
Try to explain to your boss why his company of about 50,000 windows boxes should be using linux.
It's hard to pass off something like that in our current economical climate.
The best i've been able to scrape is running a powerbook for my workstation, but i'm still stuck on a windows for development. It's life, unforunately.
that means pop-ups are street venders, and spammers are bum's begging for quaters!

here's a fact sheet, i tried to post it here but it said there as too many "JUNK" characters...
fact sheet here
"Am I the only one surprised by the fact that this guy apparently used his "real" e-mail address "
WTF? it doesn't matter if it's his real or his fake email address. the point was he read the email.. and the 'tag' 'bug' what ever showed it was read from the IP address blah blah blah.
Now the real problem is he didn't go to kinko's in order to read this email...
This is only a worth while project if you were getting paid while you were doing it.
Otherwise you've got either way too much time on your hands...
Or you hate going home.
nt 4.0 windows 98, windows 95, sixty billion other things.... people's lack of truthfullness when i say "i have to restart your machine" they say "not now"... really in the whole event, it's a big pain in my ass. i'd rather not have to look at computers ever again. *sigh*
how many hours of time i wasted patching machines. in a company with 20,000 computers easily in each building.... and only about clusters of 4 are the same, it's a pain. we can't sus the patch to them, or anything fun like that...
we're still trying to make sure all 1 million of our computers are patch world wide. It's a big pain.
We have to test the patches on our test servers and such before we issue them, because it might be worse havoc than the virus would cause...
i never realized how much i hated virus' until that week of 2 patches, back to back... gah!

i like the new spam that has all of the size .5 font text at the bottom. i always have to read it.
I saw the actual thread on the body building website a couple weeks ago. Amazing how quickly these things spread.

often times it's cheaper to buy a new printer that comes with ink, than it is to buy new ink cartrages! true story.
