Unfortunately even thats not true , at least not in the UK. There are
actually more stations (if you include surrounding county stations)
on FM here in London than there are on DAB.

No i'm not. Postscript is a Forth based language , is very hard to code
manually and useless for the beginner. I was thinking of a simple BASIC
style page layout language that could be expanded to do more complex
things as and when the need required. NOt that hard to understand I wouldn't have thought.

  3. A simple programming language would have been best on The Future of HTML · · Score: 1

Too late now , but when Berners-Lee first came up with his way of doing hyperlinking (lets not forget , he didn't invent the idea!), he should have (IMO) , defined a simple page format programming language , perhaps like BASIC, perhaps like C/javascript , so that over the years it could be added too, improved upon , made more powerful. This would have probably negated the point of most plugins and add on scripting languages and tools - just one interpreted language which the browser understood which did everything. Eg:

    locate 20,1

    printtext "heading", bold

    locate 30,10

    printimage /home/me/myimage.jpg

Or something to that affect. With looping constructs it could have become very useful and avoid the mess of different things a web page relies on now. But then , I guess hindsight is a wondering thing eh? :o)

I'm not trolling , but does anyone really care enough about HDTV to
fork out huge wads of cash on a new set? Perhaps its different in
the USA with NTSC but here in the UK we have the PAL system which does
a nice 625 lines per picture and a good PAL set does an extremely
good picture. Sure , HDTV would be better , but $3000 worth better?
I'm not convinced and neither is my wallet.

Either way I can't help wondering if this is a good thing since
if Suse or Ubunto or some other linux dist suddenly becomes popular
overnight, will they get nailed for bundling 100s of apps with it?
