    The parent said he wanted secure boot to be able to decide what boots on his machine. My point was you don't need secure boot to be able to do that. He's obviously drunk the MS kool aid. You however should learn to read.

    Err , proxys hide the location YOU'RE coming from , they don't hide their OWN location you flipping idiot.. The parent made a valid point - what is special about the IP addresses they're going to use that makes them "global"? And I suspect soon enough other sites will soon recognise them and flag them as NZ regardless.

    They do more interesting things, not hacking together some noddy webpage. So the only people left to do it are the ones who self taught themselves javascript after working their way up from HTML typesetting. I doubt many off them even have a clue how a computer works - "What, like the processor totally doesn't work on documents?? Like woah man!" - because the closest they ever got to a CS course was passing by the comp sci centre on their way to their BA or liberal arts course.

    I'm sure its a worthy project and no doubt based on very solid maths and engineering. However I'm also sure it'll be forgotten about this time next week.     If you want a gimmick watch Casio will do you a nice one for about $30 but I have to warn you that the days of digital watches being cool ended in about 1980 so you won't be getting any Hipsters putting down their skinny lattes in shock and envy by buying a Pebble either.

    When a ship is deliberately sunk to create a reef ALL the volatiles and potentially toxic substances are removed. Basically all you are left with is iron and a few other metals which are enviromentally benign and are oxidised back to the minerals they came from in a few hundred years.. A shoe however is full of glues, polymers and other man made substances which could take literally millenia to decompose and poison the enviroment in the meantime.
