It's not just that you need multiple takes per scene, you often film from separate angles simultaneously and then splice together as you see fit. Also, you shoot far more scenes than you want and put together the bits you like later.
Not in my experience. More angles=more cameras=more $$$.
Seriously though, if you're shooting at a 100:1 ratio, you're either doing a documentary or didn't spend enough time planning the shoot.
Was it Ford who claimed that he could fit his cuts in a shoebox? Shooting's my least favorite part, anyways. Takes the most work, the most time, and its where most of the screw-ups happen. I like to get in, get it shot, and get out. If that's one take with one camera, then that's what we're going with.
That's why you rehearse and storyboard =]

We did next to NOTHING? Are you kidding? The only problem is that the US had no smoking gun to know exactly who's ass to kick. As it turned out, the Taliban made like a legitimate suspect, so we went in and completely destroyed them. We ripped out the leadership of Afganistan and replaced it with one of our choosing.
Yeah, we did all that LAST YEAR. The original post was referring to the original WTC attack back in 1993...and the several embassy bombings in the mid to late 90's. As well as the USS Cole bombing.
We may have lobbed a few missles at military installations in Iraq a few times, but nothing substantial.
It's your belief that "The USA" and "The World" are the same thing that fucks me off the most.
First off - don't say 'you', as if to speak for all of us, when you slam Americans. There are millions of us here, and shooting your mouth off like that doesn't do much to help get your point across.
In sport, there is The World Series - well the rest of the world couldn't give a shit if we're not invited. (BTW, where did you get at the last World Cup?)
Well send your baseball team right over. I'm sure it'll be a hell of a series. America has a lot of problems, sure. Hell, I'd be the first to gripe about a lot of them. But that's because I'm an American. It's my right to bitch about it. Tell us where you're from before you post from behind the karmatic safety of anonymity. Chances are I don't know enough about your country to run my mouth about how it runs its business. Much like it seems you shouldn't run your mouth about mine.
Yeah, we've got some problems over here. Yeah, America has too big of an ego a lot of the time. But there is one thing we are the best at:
baseball.
Oh yeah, the World Cup team did pretty damned well for a country not named Brasil or Germany.
I dunno...but that is one of my favorite SNL sketches ever.
The best part is when the group is questioning Buck (Lord Douchebag) on his 'latest invention'...
Why do you think Mercedes et all open manufacturing in TN and such. As for IT workers, we're expensive because we earned our keep by making businesses more efficient.
Actually, Mercedes is in Alabama, and South Carolina got BMW.
Does AOL Time Warner "lose" more revenue from free months of AOL service than it loses from piracy of Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and Warner Bros. Records products?
I'll bite.
Yes, because it actually costs something to support those users.
I've worked with people in the past who used the above method as their primary means of internet access...and had done so for years.
I guess my point is that while the majority of the people who 'pirate'(ugh) films probably wouldn't actually buy the DVD anyways (therefore no revenue is actually lost), the 'free' people on AOL are actually consuming resources that cost you know...money.
Of course, I could just be repeating the obvious. =]
It's the case of the an army of the elite Vs the large army of gorillas. The elite may have a lot of neat tricks, but it will probably really hurt if the gorillas manage to [get] close enough to make a few punches.
I'm really not sure if you mean gOrillas or gUErillas...but I guess either works. =]

Here in Tennessee we only have Nissan.
I think I've got it figured out:
1. Open Movie Cafe
2. Circumvent MPAA restrictions
3. ??????
4. Make a fortune
I could be wrong,tho...
