Exactly. I'm not sure why people are for blanket bans instead of punishing people who do cause an accident.
Because making it illegal makes sure people don't do it of course. Look what it's done for murder and rape! Practically non-existent since they were outlawed.
Not my problem. I don't live anywhere near the coast. If someone builds their home on a river and the river overflows and destroys their home, that's their own lookout. This is the same.
You just made it a partisan issue with that last statement.
Just because a democrat-controlled legislature and a republican executive disagree does not make it a 'partisan' issue. I am unaffiliated, but even I know why the electoral college is a good thing. My disagreeing with the bill in the article doesn't mean I'm against the party trying to pass it. It means I'm against the idea that those individuals are trying to pass into law.
You're right. There's absolutely no difference between looking at the rings around Saturn or stargazing in an open field.. and looking at some pictures of stars on your 17" monitor.
What right to vote? That's nowhere in the US Constitution. The only thing it says on voting in the Constitution is that states can't discriminate their residents' voting based on gender, race, etc. States may grant voting rights, but the framers of our country knew that the entire populous should not be voting for the president. Which is why we still don't. That's what the electoral college is for.
What I don't understand is how there can be any source code other than a simple choice followed by Candidate1++, Candidate2++, etc. (Been 10 years since I programmed anything so forgive me for not elaborating)
Mod up.
Nowhere in the Declaration of Independence nor the US Constitution nor the constitution of any of the individual states does it say anything about a democracy.
A republic follows rule of law. A democracy is mob rule.
Sounds good. Let's turn it around. 30% failing and 70% passing. I'm sorry if this is obtuse, but I WANT kids to only pass if they know AT LEAST 70% of what's covered in the class. And in my mind, that's a gift. I'd go for 80% if I had my drothers (sp?).
Why is it so horrible to require people to actually know something before we give them a certificate that says that they know it? "Oh, he tried. Let's pass him anyways. So what if he still doesn't understand the basics of this course? They'll teach him this material again in the next level. That's a lot better than actually teaching the next level."
This strawman brought to you by Jiffy Pop. But I still hold to it.
And this is what the founders of our government education system were thinking when they said (paraphrasing, obviously) "We're not trying to create thinkers here. We're trying to fill the workforce."
Speak for yourself.
Don't forget Better Off Dead. Classic.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think that's a stock Wii Fit photo.
Ooh. Burn.
Not if shutting down those business lowers the death and skin cancer rates.
So.. pollution makes UV rays from the sun more powerful? I fail to see the connection.
Not to be pedantic (well ok, maybe), but one orbiting around the other is still "orbiting around their common center of mass".
So one should be submitted to be raped just for _thinking_ of raping? Interesting...
Yeah, because then they'll be your friend.
Would you be willing to give up the label "Aspergers"?
No. It sounds too much like ass-burgers, which I get a giggle out of every time.
Not my problem. I don't live anywhere near the coast. If someone builds their home on a river and the river overflows and destroys their home, that's their own lookout. This is the same.
When recounted in stories and pictures, it causes depression in those not invited to watch or participate.
McFly you bozo. Those boards don't work on water unless you've got POWER! hehehehe

No difference whatsoever.
TFA? You must be new here.
As long as he's not the one making the bed warm.
Funny. So did my uncle.
Yes, because the president has full control over the stock market.

Which is why the democrats want to put an end to talk radio.

How can this be twisted?
Mod up.
