I'm talking about generic cases from before 1995, when the AT standard didn't even have the PS/2 mouse port next to the keyboard port, like there were on many late model 486s, and Pentium boards. Had to saw away a chunk of the case on some of those babies to get the mouse to the motherboard.
Not sure why I was modded flamebait, I guess case-modders of the namby pamby pretty case sort, are easily offended by critism of their speed holes, and fins.
5 years is bloody short in my opinion. CD-ROM has been around in main stream for a decade now, and CDs in audio for nearing 20 years. DVDs better bloody well be the video standard until at least 2015, or I'M going to pissed, and it takes a bit to do that I might add.
I for one welcome our Imperial eBay overlords... as you can see from my signature.
Recently though, the Imperial eBay overlords have been pissing me off. They've restricted posting on the eBay Boards to just 10 posts per day for people with less than 10 unique positive feedback for a score. They plan on ruining the other international eBay Boards like ebay.ca soon too. http://forums.ebay.ca
How would I coddle my robot in order to make it feel more loved? We all know that machines are most likely to break down when their Failure sensitive circuit is activated, so how do I show Robby that I care about it, but don't make it think that I need it to work?
Although you may have said that tongue in cheek, a great many/. readers might take you at your word. 2 cities of over 200K people is hardly an area devoid of population. It is only the northern half of the province that is covered with lakes and trees that is really deviod of all but a few hundred or thousand humans.
The last blockbuster - LOTR 3 - was a waste if you bought advance tickets in my local capital city. One of the theatres selling tickets weeks in advance later decided not to show it because it's parent company wanted to hype a new Galaxy theatre in another part of town. Public outcry or maybe human decency made them show at least one screening of it to people who had "worthless" tickets they could only get a refund for, and then get in line again for the other screenings which were sold out.
I read this too late, but I would have bid 5K on it. The problem would be that I'd have to haul it away, and that would add much more. I wouldn't have to worry about winning it for that, but if I did, it would be a good investment.
We wouldn't want to run out of geographically based IP addresses for the homeless once we install FireFox on them too, and turn them into remote, mobile Internet terminals.
The SCOud missile [pronounced 'scud'] was blatently left off your list.
Did you get a payoff?

On another note, this story had me fooled, but I was thinking, "What's next, the Evil Bit?" Then I remembered that it was April 1st, and the Evil Bit was last year's main gag. My goodness I've been reading/. a lot.
After all, look at the terrible job we've done on managing Earth.
Life on Earth anyway seems to be that sort of thing that just takes over and we can't control. We accidentically move microbes all over the place, and now North America has to worry about West Nile Virus for instance.
This is just nuts, both technologically, and unprofitable wise, as going to Mars by 2020.
The amount of switches needed to put everyone on ground based broadband is nuts. I live out in an area where there is no cable TV, and a sparse population, so there is no highspeed option. And you can't consider Satellite an option yet, because 2 way is too expensive for a single household, and one way you still need the expensive dialup account.
Canada promised to give highspeed access to everyone by about this time, and the project just needs technology to catch up with consumer will.
I also don't think it is a good idea to give everyone and their dog access to highspeed Internet. With the inherent insecurities in the Internet's design, it is stupid to give attack capabilities to people who are unable and unwilling to keep their computers free of worms and trojans. The very safety of the Internet relies on some people not having quick service to the net.
I think TV has more to do with what is ON it, not what is IN the TV electronics.
Programming quality has greatly improved since even the 1980s, and so has the picture/colour too, in my opinion. The cameras are sharper, and don't produce as many streaks when they move in dim areas.
The quality of the TV electronics has declined if anything. Now that they are made in Mexico, instead of places where quality was a desirable feature, I hear lots of people complaining they die within a year. Plasma TVs for instace only have a lifespan at maximum of about 7 years, compared to I suppose ~15 for CRTs. I have two working 20" colour TVs that are both at least 15 years old.
I would rather watch a fuzzy show I like, than a sharp/crystal clear show of some tiresome comedy like Everybody Hate Raymond.

Otherwise case modding is about as technical as putting a decal on your car.
Now, a mod that allows you to attach your PS/2 mouse to an old 486 case? THAT'S a mod that is snazzy.
Well, even news reporters on the TV throw in their's or their company's political commentary.
My blogs that I write are a combination of my news, and comentary on things that I see that just need commenting on.
They are a perpetual "letter to home".
OH THE HUMANITY!
Fortunately this time we should have the sense not to paint the blimps with highly flammable doping.
I wonder how well we'll be able to trust what we read on the Internet. Oh wait. Do we trust everything we read, as it is today?!
On a 56kbps modem connection, the UBCD is still the way to go, but if I had highspeed Internet, I'd get and learn knoppix.
The Ultimate Boot CD
This CD and the Open CD are about all you need to get your friends computer working in tip top shape.

I think it would be entirely more valuable if someone could make a great Windows emulator for Linux, like there is for Mac OS 9 [and maybe X too?].
I would run Linux as my primary OS if I had the option to run my Windows programs in the blink of an eye, at the click of an icon.

It is because Saskatchewan is an ideal spot for landings from space.
Large parts are grassland plains, with very little water obstacles, and the road networks are about 1/5th of the total roads in Canada.
It also helps to have a Redneck population, in case of alien landing. Kidding, kidding, I kid because I love...
Russia has designated SK an emergency landing zone for cosmonauts. And a rich guy who circled the globe in his baloon landed in SK too.
That sounds likely.

Why not release it on a Friday? Now people will miss at least a day of work standing in line, and Friday recovering from the night before.
Some things you just can't slow down to make them more stable. For instance, an airplane.
Perhaps these batteries either charge very quickly, or not at all?

And hey, free advertising for my eBay auction(s).
I'd plug it into a Babylonian battery, you know, a pot filled with wine, and reactive metals dipped in it, for an anode and cathode.
This is certainly a good project to use IPv6 for.

That is roughly twice what we pay for dial up. Is there a bandwidth or hour maxium?
I only get 180 hours a month from Sasktel.
And is that even available in Canada?
Oh I just found that http://www.starband.com/faqs/index.asp
Not really.
