Sure, the CPU potential of the PS3 hasn't been reached yet, however this is largely irrelevent since games are mainly bound by the GPU performance. The PS3 GPU is a generation behind the PC.
> and lots of torque except with a diesel car you tend to get the torque when you don't need it. And there's also the "diesel lag". Slam the accelerator to the floor - nothing happens - then 2 seconds later a sudden burst of power. Quite fun when your pulling out in a busy roundabout.
> That when you try to fix one problem, you almost always invent a new one? Prime example, using cats to get rid of mice....but than theres to many cats right? well lets roll in the dogs.. what? now too many dogs? ok lets bring in........ Some things are just better left alone
... so, you are suggesting it would be a bad idea to try to block out the sun with cats, or other domestic animals?
What's annoying is there is no real "patch" as such. You have to install the entire 77mb package from scratch and it installs crap like the yahoo toolbar by default.
I talked to other developers about this and none of them have ever been stuck for the 30% either. I supose it's just another one of the rules that they don't act on.
Dude, you couldn't be more wrong. Jailbreaking is legal, is the only way to unlock your phone and is done simply by browsing a web page. There was even episode of Diggnation where Kevin and Alex jailbroke their iPhones live - just for a laugh.
There's something stinky about flash on mobiles. They tried to make it the next big mobile platform before (aka Flashlite) and it flopped.
Three big flash developers Nitrome, Semi Secret Software and Astro Ape Studios, are rewriting their games for iPhone natively rather than using CS5, because flash is too slow.
"DirectInput forms a part of the DirectX library, it has not been significantly revised since DirectX 8 (2001-2002). Microsoft recommends that new applications make use of the Windows message loop for keyboard and mouse input instead of DirectInput"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectSound "DirectSound runs in emulation mode on the Microsoft software mixer. The emulator does not have hardware abstraction, so there is no hardware DirectSound acceleration... XAudio 2 is a cross-platform (Windows and Xbox) common low-level audio API, intended as the replacement for DirectSound"
I know for karate origonally there were only two belts, white, for learner and black for master. The master had a black belt because it was unlucky to wash your belt and by the time you got to be master it was black from dirt.
In the interview he's saying: "The first one, second one, and third one, I did not see this as a serious problem... After the fifth suicide, in March, Gou says, "I decided to do something different."... and I'm thinking: yeah, he's going to improve working conditions and wages. No. Instead he hires one of the world's largest PR firms. Those suicides were making him look bad!
That document is hilarious, especially this part: "We have over 250,000 apps in the App Store. We don't need any more Fart apps. If your app doesn't do something useful or provide some form of lasting entertainment, it may not be accepted." The App Store director himself has fart apps on the App Store: http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/08/apple-fart-apps/all/1

That's awesome... but why did they wait so long to bring out this controller? It should have been available from day one.
Well, it easy to pass the buck, but in the past Apple have indeed pressured their suppliers to improve working conditions of their workers.
No, but Apple could easily fix the problem. "If you continue to use toxic substances to manufacture iPhones, we are going to switch suppliers".
i think google has to work on get rid of the huge amount of false positives. i remember at one point even opengl.org was blacklisted

that's how I updated.... ah, I not sure about the file size, but it definately tried to install the yahoo toolbar

how will we be able to tell the difference?

> Oh, and as a developer when you give a refund YOU give a refund. Apple doesn't give back their 30%.
I'm an iPhone developer and have never been charged the 30% for refunds - and they do happen occasionly

You got your wires crossed. He's talking about MS licensing Java technology that they copied for .NET.
Nothing to do with MS's java implementation.
"Microsoft .NET just smears over a huge pile of Sun patents. When they did the .NET design, they basically cut and pasted from the Java spec. "

can you still beat tanks with spearman?
It probably could easily be modified to work even with javascript disabled, as it's using flash and java as well.
DirectX is only about graphics. All that other stuff is obsolete:

they should colour-code it so we can see a world snapshot of evil ;)
I tried it. Their firewall seems to only block a small percentage of outgoing connections.

The begrudgers always critisize, but it's not just blankets - MS are also licensing duvets, bedsheets and pillow slips
