  1. Try Easytune5 on Twenty Five Intel CPU Coolers Tested · · Score: 1

There's this application that comes with gigabyte motherboards specially for newbies (like me), it's called Easytune5. When you open it, it has two big buttons, up and down. Clicking up increases clockspeed in 1% increments. I upped the clock speed on my E6600 by 15% using this method and everything works fine. I could hear no fan noise increase and I am using stock cooler.
Of coarse, you could tweak a lot more performance out of it, if you want to go mucking around with bios settings, but I just don't have the time for that.

Well, if they are competing against current NOR flash, then they have a bit to go. Currently NOR flash is available at 1GB.
Another thing they don't mention is if it's available in low power (ie. 1.8V), that's important if they want to target the mobile phone market.
It does have the avantage of being faster and more reliable.
I presume it will remain a niche product for a number of years until they can scale it up.

If you actually read the artical you will see the claims are rather vague. He says that the Nehalem may or may not have a memory control, but it depends and makes vague claims about a GPU (just because a GPU is on-core doesn't mean it going to be good, remember Intel already make crap on-motherboard GPUs).
Most of the rest of the artical is just speculation by Jon Stokes. It seems to me that Intel have no clear plan yet, and they don't really need to. They have clearly beaten AMD with the Conroe and it seems they will beat the Barcelona with the 45nm process.

  13. Re:Is AMD beaten? on Intel Next-Gen CPU Has Memory Controller and GPU · · Score: 1

Normally I would agree. It's easier to form a cartel when there are only a few companies in the market (like what the telcos do), but it this case it's quite obvious that that hasn't happened. Intel and AMD hate each other and are currently engaged in a price war and a struggle to provide the fastest processors. That's good for consumers, we get cheap fast CPUs and this generally considered the way free market should work.
Anyway's considering the humongous costs of developing a 65nm chip process it's financially impossible to have a hunderd companies competing in this area

MERCEDES-BENZ INTRODUCES SOLID GOLD S430 LUXURY SEDAN
STUTTGART, GERMANY -- Citing their commitment to provide consumers in today's ailing global economy with the very best in luxury automobiles, DaimlerChrysler subsidiary Mercedes-Benz announced today it will offer a solid gold S430 touring sedan in model year 2003.

With a curb weight of just over 87 tons and an MSRP of $462,744,999, the S430 SGE (Solid Gold Edition) will be available exclusively to qualified buyers in Silicon Valley, Monaco, Montreal, and Saudi Arabia. In addition to the S430's standard 62-speaker Bose audio system, 22-position GPS-calibrated reclining heated leather seats, and lifetime supply of exotic swimsuit models or covert secret agents, the SGE will feature the powerful Pratt & Whitney V2500 dual-induction jet engine, capable of accelerating the monolithic vehicle from 0-60mph in just 36.2 seconds, and sustaining highway speeds up to 45mph.

Improving Mercedes' industry-leading automotive safety systems, SGE engineers touted the benefits of the sedan's solid gold body panels, claiming the soft metal will better absorb energy during a collision, and can later be easily hammered or smelted back into it's original shape.
