yer telling me- it's totally secure to use that cabled pinpad? because criminal orginizations cannot possibly make a compatible pinpad, that dumps the numbers pressed? or hey, make a damn keystroke logger equivelent for the rj-11 jack-- unplug pinpad, insert dongle, insert rj-11-
My crappy windows ME laptop has a cheapo 15" lcd attached to it, sitting out in my shed- with a g network adapter... running a 2055 hack, I can- with one of the two monitors in my shed, run a full screen XP session and a full screen windows ME session at the same time-- the ME session serves up any video stream (rdc sucks at motion video) and stat monitor on my wlan connection- the XP screen affords me power to run whatever I run....
Consider- I can run any of my commercial software while my wife is inside running the same commercial software... one license....
this has extended the useful life of my winme laptop immesurably-- if it powers up, and runs mstsc.exe- it's a windows xp machine...
that's what will mess over the hardware manufacturers...
A lotta folks are annoyed at oracle for charging a per-processor fee, and counting dual cores as two processors.... I say-- fuck em! pay for two processors, and connect to it from 50 machines!
sorry- and I don't intend to buy a firstgen cpu for this purpose, at this time. I'll wait a couple of iterations- today I would buy a 2.4 pIV instead of a 3.6 EE I don't have that kinda budget-
but I look forward to the development, and buying a first gen dual core after a few more series are out..
I know I codeed that into a apple//e for myself around 88-- others MUST have written software for it before that- it came out in a 1970? scientific american as a checkboard game...
Anything you can do with a mouse can be done with a keyboard.
I'd actually like to know how I can set multiple files that are apart in a selected state with a keyboard.
I can hold shift and arrowkey around to select multiple files, but if they are not adjoining, I can't do the equivelant of a Ctrl+click to add a file to the files already selected...
yes it does. tweak ui lets you change the items on the left from 'my computer' 'my desktop' ' my documents' etc to anything you want.
you can also do it directly with the registry
MS-Office applications (recent versions at least) have it as an option to add a common folder right from the open/save dialog box... and it's list of 5 on the left is separate from all other programs open/save dirs
I have my left list to include network shares..
I also have one pseudo mapped drive that I change on the fly for every project I work on.. when I'm making a dvd, I might use nero, studio, adobe photoshop elements, ms publisher, word, and epson's print cd program, before I start the project, I change my mapped 'x' drive to a folder for that project, and save all my different programs output to the 'x' drive (which is a folder on my local data harddrive) and each file type gets saved with the project.. if I have to re-create it, it's all right there, if I need drive space, I pick a project folder that has sufficiently aged, and delete it.
if someone wants to post an individuals home address, then require the POSTER to list their own address & phone# just above- in the same font and size....
your argument holds, until you hit Juggernaught class.. people sell on ebay, cause that's where the buyers are, and people buy on ebay, cause that's where the sellers are...
my 'friends' father wouldn't speak to him for a while- (live a few hundred miles apart) not beacause he was angry at his 'son' for downloading the show, but because he didn't want his 'son' to spill ANYTHING about the ending.
how depressing, my 'friend' could have saved his father so much pain....
I work with verifones.
tranz terminals? 380-s?
pinpads attach with an rj-11 phone jack.
yer telling me- it's totally secure to use that cabled pinpad? because criminal orginizations cannot possibly make a compatible pinpad, that dumps the numbers pressed? or hey, make a damn keystroke logger equivelent for the rj-11 jack-- unplug pinpad, insert dongle, insert rj-11-
start collecting pins.....
but then what happens if you lose your sense of humor?
no- walmart was referred to only to evidence that the significant percentage I'm talking about in my rebuttal exists.
where it relates to your post, is you think the 'asshole' won't be able to continue sales with a bad rep- I say rep don't matter, price does...
(loosly inferring that walmart has a bad reputation, and cheap prices- as your hypothetical 'non-infringing infringer')
can run terminal services.
is there even a VNC client for Symbian?
with terminal services/vnc, you can run the largest server in the world on your handheld readily..
no no no..... people shop at walmart.
pay attention:
there is a SIGNIFICANT portion of the population for who PRICE is the ONLY consideration.
not QUALITY, not RELIABILITY, nor REPUTATION but PRICE.
in your libertarian society, with no restriction- there will always be a market for the asshole to sell to.
I like libertarian ideas too, but I think you are flat out wrong.
I'll tell you.

check your MTU setting, I had a similar problem, with verizon DSL
I reset my MTU to 1492- hasn't happened since.
look for DRTCP to adjust it easily.
where did I say buying a dell?
damn! I am thrilled with the fact that dualcore chips exist, for the simple fact that, in one or two generations, the prices will on first gens drop!

Well, I was giving what I thought would be more common tasks..
Yes, I'm transcoding video 99% of the time I'm not sitting in front of my computer..
I'd prefer to transcode 99% of the time.-- i spend a lot of time in front of my computer.
burn many dvd's?
Every try to play a game while encoding a dvd?
watch a different video while encoding a dvd?
I look forward to it like you can't believe.
not a 'game' category per se
But doom was distributed FOR FREE- with only a 1/3rd of the game.. but it was a complete game- it made you DIE for more- and to buy it!
nobody put top of the line software out for free.
Um, tim conway's Life?

I know I codeed that into a apple
I felt rather godlike at the time...
and a bow with a flourish is delivered unto you this day,
Thank you good sir, your instruction has proven valuable indeed, I stand corrected, and happily so!
but can it compare the speed of light to the speed of a bicycle?1 4/1418255

You've obviously never actually set a schoolgirl on fire..
(I don't reccomend the experience without earplugs)

Best Buy
Circuit City
Radio Shack..
none of them stock IRDA adapters of any flavor.
PDA's with IR sure-- nothing for the IRDA port on your PC...
No- IRDA is not common enough in the USA
