    Swisscom, Switzerland's largest telco, has recently introduced their new pricing model. In this model, all calls and SMS are free, and additionally, you pay a flat fee for your internet usage, depending on the bandwidth you select.

    That is a very strange argument. Wars start because diplomacy has failed. In case you haven't noticed, the cold war didn't end in a nuclear holocaust, but peacefully.

    By offering a complete solution to your customer, which he can't get by installing an out-of-the-box product.
    I work with a little software company (~10 employees), and we're developing ZOPE Products for a large organization. Now Zope is free, and our products are going to be Open Source as well, but by programming these Products to the specific needs of our customers, we found our niche.
