    If you've given up on them then support someone else's work that doesn't use DRM. Don't use TPB and justify it to yourself because it was inconvienent.

    They are stealing our rights to privacy and free speech, so he is "stealing" a movie. You are right in that it is not a fair trade... But shooting them presents other problems.

    Don't get me wrong, not all officers are this way. Many are selfless public servants who get paid a pittance to risk their lives every day. My hat goes off to all of them who are doing the job, regardless of their ego status. Just don't fool yourself, some of them have some serious ego issues.

    There are many good cops. But until they go after the bad cops and run them off, all of them are represented by the assholes in the news.

    Why do these people lie to start with? It's their default. It's almost as if they thought we, the citizens and taxpayers, are the enemy.

    When there are absolutely no consequences, why not? If there were real consequences for this carp, it would stop. (Something other than a pension and a book deal.)

    Just because there is a large competitor, you do not quit. Apple didn't and came from behind several times. Now if it is not profitable, let it go, but don't just give up and give it all to App/Goog(le) without a fight. Besides, 1% of a lot of people is still a lot of people.

    If you choose a cloud offering which does that for you then yes, you don't have to worry about things like software updates and patching.

    I would say you still have to worry about it, and verify it was done. You just do not have to actually do it...

    If you trust essentially your entire business exclusively to another business, you are foolish. They could fold, go out of business, change business model or be raided and shout down by the US government. Have a backup somewhere else, period. Or look at the failed companies and projects that didn't... Code Spaces anyone?

    If the site is one I may want to see again, I will e-mail thewebmaster to let them know about the adblock "allow inoffensive adds" feature and how to get whitelisted. Some have ignored me, and I have ignored them. Some have responded negativly, and I found other websites. But some have responeded very positivly and thanked me for the info and link. Those sites, I support.

    No. The internet was implemented by the federal government, funded by citizen taxes, and later extended as part of the communications infrastructure. The internet was not invented to serve businesses, it was invented to serve the citizens.

    And pre-1913 we had no income taxes. When you get to todays world, let us know.
