A new Wii version will be great with wii controls should make it easier to shoot the zombies in the head or hack off their arms ;)

They should grab the engine from the Conduit guys too :)

  2. Seems to be confusion on Electronic Arts Purchases BioWare, Pandemic · · Score: 1

    Bioware did not make Bioshock.

EA does not have any rights to D&D related stuff, so Neverwinter Nights cannot be made or published through EA.
Unfortunately Atari have that privelige (I wish Atari would hurry up and die).

But overall, this has a sense of foreboding.

I hope Bioware does not get stuffed around.

I'm sort of completely opposite to that.

For me I'm more interested in the story to propel me along with the game.
If there is very little story or it is mostly just action e.g. most FPS type games, then I usually get bored within 10min and chuck the game out.

I really enjoy story based games, great examples are Jade Empire and KOTOR.

I'm playing LOTRO at the moment too, and am enjoying that as well.

First off - I just love this movie even more now ;)
Yes I'm one of the few that actually don't mind the first Trek movie (in fact, it's the movie that got me into Trek in the first place).

Apart from fixing various FX glitches or whatever in the movie, they put in FX they wanted to put in but could never do it because of time and/or money issues.

e.g. Spock's scene at the beginning has a beutiful new Vulcan landscape. (you should be able to look this up on google)
Another example: near the end when they come up to V'ger and come out of the Enterprise to walk towards it, as Enterprise slowly pulls up to it, you see the hexagon like blocks appearing and moving up to form the walkway (very cool effect).

It also has the worst "return" policy I have ever encountered.
"Return" policy in the sense of what happens to your account after you have left the game for x amount of time and you want to come back and re-activate your account.
Warcraft and Everquest (I think) don't delete anything.

The other month I thought I'd give FFXI another go, and maybe try out the Red Mage (actually, I was inspired after playing FF on PS2 hehe). Anyways, I got a rude shock when I found out that if I don't log in within 3 months after cancelling the account - the account gets deleted!!!

That is the most idiotic and unfriendly policy I have come across. I am not going to buy the WHOLE GAME again just so I can play in it again. That is just ridiculous.

Which also means I will never play it ever again (the FF MMORPG) or any other Square Enix MMORPG (if they use the same policy).

If you read the website they talk about progression.

If I remember correctly it's something like reputation with your faction, the higher the reputation the more likely you will get your command etc. Also, chars won't have money as such. If you're Federation you will be supplied with everything.
But if you start saving on money (credits) you can then buy fancy items (e.g. remember how Picard had relics in his room? I reckon they'll do something like that. You could buy fancy looking relics or something like that to display in your room).
I think they mentioned something about using your reputation to gain new technology as well (e.g. perhaps you are a science type, you do heaps of missions to help science, building your reputation, you can then "pull some strings" (i.e. spend reputation i guess) and get the latest tricorder just for you.

Anyways, this is my understanding of it. If you want better details, go to their website and read their developer blogs.

I hope they don't consider increasing prices here!! I will definitely stop buying games locally.

I'm usually importing UK games (which work out to be AUS$75 for a new release!).

I just cannot understand why games in Australia are so friggin expensive! Why is a game that is "manufactured" in Australia the same price as a game that has been imported from Europe?? Wouldn't the locally manufactured game be cheaper?? Just does not make any sense to me at all.

Um I bought the DS from the US. There is no power problem.
I just plug in my Gameboy SP adapter to charge it.

Games? I've noticed that most games that come to Australia have been localized in the US (just changed to support PAL). There are a few games that we get from Europe (not as much).

Call me a whiner, but I don't see why we can't get it at least within a month of Japan/US, especially when most games are already localized to US standards (hmmm a misnomer there...)

For a portable, these should be minor issues (for a console, I understand, there's more to do). The DS already supports multiple languages!

If all the other music stores were like this, they will get a flood of people joining and buying their songs and they would easily make enough to cover the license fee etc (that the labels charge). Anyways, the only music stores in Australia sell at the standard 0.99 per track which is expensive. Make it $10 per GB and see the money roll in...

I'd have to agree about the GameCube. I have enjoyed every single game so far that I have bought.

All the games are different from the usual games offered by PS2 or PC.

Yes they may be in same "area" like an FPS type game, but (e.g.) Eternal Darkness is brilliant in mixing a great story, FPS action and even a horror element to it (especially the Sanity effects!).

And then there's Zelda. Yes another RPG action adventure game, but it has brilliant gameplay and awesome graphics, as well as an intriguing and interesting story.

That's what I want mostly from games. I'm sick of "fluff". I'm sick of "showy" stuff or stuff being created to please the masses (too much of it in TV/movies/music), too much focus on profit.
