I would strongly discourage the use of ADA, Structure is good when it enforces good programming practices. ADA tends toward structure for structure's sake.
Buy some books from the 90s with source code, documentation and specs. Doesn't matter what language or environment particularly. Basic is OK, C is OK, Pascal is OK. type in the code, or scan and OCR it. Kick the tires, see how it works. Change it. Break it. Fix it. Make it do something different. Make it do the same thing differently.
I'm more worried about someone who wants my wallet. Or feels the need to make inappropriate advances toward me or someone who's safety I am responsible for.
Did the UK finally get suckered into the EU? Last I heard, they were resisting with all they had since they didn't want the leeches to destroy their economy.
I'll go with the guy who invented the term for what it means over some Yahoo on slashdot.
Civil disobedience is about changing things. Thoreau, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr, etc. You call the media, break the law and get arrested.
Civil disobedience means making the gamble that you are right with your liberty as the stake, since liberty is your goal, you gamble the liberty you have against the liberty you believe has been taken by an unjust law.
Civil disobedience is breaking the law publicly and demanding to be punished to the full extent of the law in order to demonstrate the wrongness of the law. It is similar to matyrdom, but is a deliberate act. it isn't something done in secret.
So, you think that a copy of the most recent harry potter book was online in PDF in its entirety within hours of international release was an accident, a fluke, or a product of one crazy guy?
The only books I want on my computer(other than my "collection of crap I downloaded because it was there and I'll never read it") are reference volumes that are properly crosslinked and crossreferenced, and I will/have/will continue to HAPPILY pay for those, in order to make my studies more convienient. BUT if I am reading recreationally I want the smell and texture of book paper.
Well, what is your plan for wiping out poverty and starvation? Does it involve wiping out political repression and terrorism first? If not it is a waste of energy. If it does, be aware that repression and terrorism must be wiped out by use of focussed violence and that will make your plan unpopular both among terrorists, dictators and anti-war activists.
The only places in the world where there is not enough food to feed everyone are places where the "powers that be" choose to sieze and fire on "charitable" food "donations/deliveries" China, US, and the rest of the developing world have hungry people because those people either because of mental defect or personal choice don't wish to be employed or employable.

If you are willing to work overtime.
Step 1 can also include an early PC/PCjr/Tandy 1000 series for Basic and assembly.
BUT, if you really want principles, Knuth will beat you to death with principles.

You forgot to mention the benefit of everyone(almost) assuming that someone wearing a leather jacket in the summer is armed. :)
I can't tell from the picture, but does it have a pocket near the body that could hold a medium sized hand gun?
A Sober woman can be much more interactive than a drunk one. Try it sometime.
Well, if your job qualifications don't make you employable where you are
MOVE!!!!!!
And I'm confident, that the local quick service restaurant is hiring(they always are).

from scratch to database building Oracle was more friendly, efficient and responsive to my desires.
and I was under the impression that wireless companies and long term contracts had primarily to do with the amazingly high cost of phones.
Actually it is your customer who pays you, the company just writes the checks
I've had wireless phone service since 97, and it was mainstream well before that, but pre-paid wireless is less than 3 years old.
Wear a suit and tie out in public with the customer is a different kind of common sense than lie to the customer and squeeze them for every penny.
Having used both Oracle and Sybase for Database management, I'm unimpressed with Sybase's product.
Good thing I'm sitting on an OSHA approved 5 legged chair.
