    Six thousand years, If you are going to propogate a stereotype at least get the facts straight.

    I am an American Xtian and I believe in a young earth.

    I believe that the salinity of the oceans, and the dust on the moon are two evidences of this.
    If pressed I believe I could name all 50 states
    I also understand the difference between a state and a district. I believe that the electoral college is an effective means of protecting states rights and I'm getting OT so I'll stop.

    I also enjoy that intellectual exercise, but given your manner here and your posting history, I believe(based on evidence similar to that which brings me to believe in GOD) that you would devolve to obscenity and emotionalism and therefore I would cease to enjoy the exercise.

    I once carried on a 3.5 year debate of that very nature.

    Based on publicly available knowledge and the fact that the NSA is the largest known employer of mathematicians and Computer Scientists, it is likely that they are at least 30 years ahead of the rest of the world.

    They don't even need to monitor them. Just "interfere" IIRC Wind, line noise, birds, rain, someone walking past, etc will affect a quantum stream. And since you can't tell what the cause of the "eavesdropping" was the communication must be aborted. And of course it must be a direct connection, otherwise the routers and switches will cause "interference" Quantum Key trasfer is likely unfeasable.

    YOu know what, there are people murdered all over the world every day, just random acts of violence, DO YOU CARE??? how about those pages of Obituaries?? DO YOU CARE???

    Unless they are your friends or relatives, you likely don't. Ditto for deaths in Iraq. 5000 or 50000, the average American or Brit or Pole or Turk doesn't care unless they are Americans or Brits or Poles or Turks.

    Explain how going to space is going to prevent people in Africa and SOuth America from shooting each other while fighting over water rights to perfectly adequate sources of water and food?

    There is plenty of water, more than plenty of food, distribution is the problem and until we stop the despots in charge, it won't change... personally I say let them work it out.

    and when they are done shooting at each other, we'll feed them for free, but until they manage to stop shooting... let them starve...

    I ustacud run 3-5 miles at a 7 minute pace with no pain... I can't now... and the weight is the problem... that and I can't even do a 7 minute pace anymore.

    Yup, and given that there are two groups of soldiers--

    the 4 and out crowd who are in for the college money and the lifers who have served under 2-3 diverse administrations I don't think that the "evil government" posited in previous posts IF it exists will have much success using the "monolithic US military" against civilian populations in much more than isolated incidents. IN anything approaching a general rebellion or civil war, the military will be as divided as the rest of the populace...

    and unlike the average american Most soldiers(members of the military) have more than a passing familiarity with the constitution.

    I am a libertarian leaning republican most of the time, but I would have voted for either of those two, not because I necessarily agreed or approved, but because their records and manner demonstrated that they were persons of integrity and would make decisions based on who they were. And agree or disagree with a man, you can come to a meeting of the minds with a man of integrity. I am glad that Bush was in for 9/11 over Gore, but I believe that Bradley and McCain would have been up to an equal job.

    Right to free speech IF it isn't associated in ANY way with the uniform. and most of the same freedoms, most importantly the right to a jury of true peers and not of 12 clowns who couldn't get out of jury duty. But when in or associated with the uniform, respect for superiours(lawful) is drilled in, of course the DUTY to disobey unlawful orders is also drilled in, at least yearly.

    Stuff like if you are told to abuse prisoners DON"T
    or, DON"T intentionally shoot at civilians or hospitals.
