For developers/inventors who would like to try to concieve and develop a product that requires the contribution of a large number of people, who do not have the support or money of large corporations, Open Source could well be the right way. The core of any product, is the *idea* that differentiates it. says me, seun
My original post has a typo; I meant earth and mars. I get it better now. But what would explain why this particular rock type that was crashed into and bounced as far as earth would be rare on Mars?
No, it's not such a difficult concept. It's simply a synonym for "Text-based Adventure Game". For those of us who were not yet born when the genre started, it's Quake _without_ the visual feedback, or the sound, or the mission objective. It's the Quake of a time when computers were not powerful enough to play Quake. Now, for some reason, some people are still in love with the old way... and these are good people.....................
Instead of saying that the rock came from mars and ended up on earth, why not just take it that similar meteors to the one that landed on mars also landed on Mars. Afterall, the 'bounce' rock is reportedly unlike other Martian rocks. Am I missing the point?

"Zeglis told analysts in a third quarter conference call that the company would lay off 1,900 workers. He did not say where the cuts would come or when."
expected to work under tight conditions to complete a project as part of a job I might lose anytime soon. duh!
Meanwhile, rumors of layoffs and offshore outsourcing began swirling around Odyssey. "[The rumors] slowed things down," says a former employee. "When stuff like that happens, people start looking for other work. I know I was looking for other work when I should have been testing."
It is a basic fact that most people need to be happy, content, secure to produce great work. It is another basic fact that managers will never stop lookiing for ways around that 'limitation'!

Modern technology has brought us to the point where, finally, we have better yo-yos.. again!
Is that, unlike technologies like JSP, Velocity works simply as a component, a module, which you can adapt for various purposes in your application. I don't believe in frameworks, I believe in modules which have their source code available.

I don't understand why the Tablet PCs you provide "for those who don't bring their laptops" would need to be water-proof when the laptops they are intended to replace are not. I think what you need is a solution to water-proof standard laptops. This could simply be an alternative sitting arrangement. Or a big roof over the sitting area.
Google provides the rest of the information you need, of course. And Froogle.
When people speak out on issues like this, it helps managers in big corporations to.. err... be careful to clean out their closets. What you don't want people to know about, don't do. Don't hide behind your 'corporate position'.
So, guys, you prefer an environment where nothing is regulated, where criminals can do their jobs in peace without their privacy being invaded by the 'big bad guys' in law enforcement. Well, come to my country; we are new to democracy, I am sure you would feel more at home!
[sigh] internalization is one of those things that we developers only start to add on when our code becomes widely popular. If only the programming techniques for adding i18n support were more straightforward.
If Linux can become more flexible in the areas of package management and system configuration... For example, making it easy to run multiple versions of, say, gcc on the same system and switch between them at will; automatically generating configuration files based on system-wide settings. Seamlessly integrating with the latest source or binary packages of my favorite software... and letting all these features be available from the bash shell, while making it easy for GUI wrappers to be built for those shell apps... these are the things that can make Linux a more ideal platform! At the end of the day, I really don't care what language the configuration scripts are written in!
I'd say the good that can come from free access to information for the masses must not be underrated in the determination of what amounts to "social capital"!
Yeah, I'm just trying to be a smartass, but isn't Epinions the place for this sort of topic?:-P Lots of reviews for consumer goods and no, a portable CD-R Player works the same for fashion models as it does for geeks.

That's standard, even for Databases.

Why is this article not so hot? Well, because the upgrade process is so easy, for us!

On the other hand, even if we could make people smarter just by giving them supplements, is being smartsuch a good thing all the time?
:-) Else we son't be making any real difference to the world.

Think of a program like this as a "recording studio on the desktop"

Programs like this are a big step forward for the dream of "Linux on the Desktop"
