It seems as thought the trend in dj equiptment lately is to replace lack of skills with better (ie. features that replace skills) equiptment. I know people who cannot mix on regular old tech 1200s and a 2 chan. mixer, they need the latest vestax decks with reverse, 78rpm, whammy bar/whatever + pioneer djm ?000+ with sampler, flanger, filter, ect.... at least to myself the turntable is like a guitar. when you suck at it, you don't go and buy the Fender FuturePlus4500 with infrared strings, and midi fretboard and auto-tune, you practice till your fingers bleed.

With high end CD decks, it's possible to do anything that can be done with a record, and in fact it can be done better

bullshit. ever try and scratch/juggle beats on cd decks, sounds just like the $99 casio keyboard with the 'scratch' button. Name dj who can even come close a good scratch dj on cds and I will give you my soul for a nickel.

But with a CD you won't be damaging your source material when you use it and you can also do some pre-production mixing that is beat-perfect without the risk of live-show error (which is both bad for your reputation and embarassing.)

ie. you suck so bad you have to beat mix your set before hand, so you don't look like a tool, except when you show up to a gig with one cdr and just stand there pretending to be doing your job.

I suspect they view the overall prices as a kind of "war document" -- much like any war plans that cross the president's desk. There will be a multititude of plans, of course, but part of the tactical decision making process is to sign off on a particular set of a plans, at a specific time, based on specific intelligence.

Still, they are JUST PRICES not propriatary or internal documents, or trade secrets, just prices, I don't think walmart even has the slightest idea of what they are doing. Just reason #298 to not shop at wal-mart... anyway those greeters scare the shit out of me.

    1. Hex conversion. (all or part of a file)
    2. Hex replace. (all or part of a file also)

If anyone can point me to a good editor, I will probably make the switch.

    btw.
I am not very far up on the IT ladder (quite low, mostly doing extraction of data), but have been given permission to run linux on my box, but just can't find the right editor to do my job at the pace I am currently able to achieve. I do a lot of busy work, so a good editor makes all the differnce.

Music is the voice of the generation, not surprising many don't want to listen, they'd rather dismiss it as garbage. Myself, I'll just live in the past. (And I'm in my 20's)

The problem I have is that the artists with talent and creative music (not this cookie-cutter briney crap) don't get any support from the labels that sign them. If you have a hit, they put you on the top of the world make you do a song with Santana, endorse products, and when your 15 min of fame is through, sweep you away and create a new improved version. I believe they (record labels) fail when they bank on their single/hit based artists who have minimal talent, but media apeal. I will go and buy a album if it is worth listening to, all the way through. These are harder to find these days. I was trying to remember the last time I got excited about a new album coming out.... that must have been 4-5 years ago.

3 people @ 150 lbs = 450 lbs + weight of landshark + 400cc displacement (less than 60 hp.) = less than 200 mph. It takes high displacement (over 1000cc on most street bikes) to get even close to the 200 mph barrier. I am willing to bet that this thing could barely break 100 mph. 60 hp is pushing it too... most 400cc engines produce much less power (20 - 40 hp range).

First.. Make sure you get a STEREO cable, not 1/8" mono. (Look b4 you buy)
