I've been doing this for a few years. I got a corsica for $100. Drove it for a year with about $100 in repairs/parts. Then got a free '88 accord (bad breaks) $100 later it is like brand new. I figure spending about $300 for transportation for over 2 years isn't too bad, considering that that amount would equal the monthly payment of a SUV. Plus I still have the corsica as a back-up if my Accord breaks:) Just look for deals in local papers, billboards, ask friends/family. Pick up a good repair manual and tool set if you don't have them. Almost all of the repairs I have done have been very simple (less than 3 hours work) but have probably saved over $1000 in labor fees by taking an evening, reading the manual, and doing the repair.
This guy downloaded over 600 songs in a day! If and only if this behavior was not limited to a single day, then it is obvious this guy was pirating music. He took music without paying for it, plain and simple.
Of course, if he owned the CDs, that is a different story, but the probability of the guy (it has to be a guy!) owning those CDs just isn't there.
So, how does the RIAA know he downloaded 600 tracks? Would the courts order Verison to give me someone's name if I thought they had downloaded one of my copywrited songs? (I bet not). What about software, can any publisher now go and ask for the names of people they SUSPECT of illegal downloading their product??? The courts just set a precedent and the RIAA is probably going to continue with this activity until they realize it is futal and they go back to what they were originally supposed to do, set and maintain standards for recording.
"and the only secure method involves a woodchipper.
don't hurt your woodchipper, the HD would probably jam it. A splitting maul works wonders, and lets you take out your aggression. Plus the HD lasts for at least a couple of blows. (I got frustrated at loosing my 10G Maxtor, while in the process of backing up my mp3 collection (back when a 10gig drive cost as much as my '88 Accord) I am sure that data was not recoverable.)
Dispenses 16 bottles of liquor for $235? Even if the hardware was free, I don't think I'd be drinking anything that came out of this "monkey."
never went to college did you.
$14.69 each for each bottle should be top shelf to most college students....
$6 liters of Silver Wolf is where things start to go downhill.
I run XP and it has never crashed - apps have crashed but that's it. Since this is a streamlined version of XP that is to run on a certain set of hardware, I'd be pretty confident that it won't crash
the hp media center pc was unstable out of the box.
I didn't catch that. Now it makes more sense. Having to buy a 2.53 ghz box for $1,649.00 to get this OS is still not that apealing. Especially if it is unstable out of the box.
With support like this, I highly doubt that this product is going to get much support from the general public. Most windows users aren't going to go out and buy new hardware for their PC, just to run a new flavor of windows that has the same functionality as a PVR. When faced with the choice of a set top box or a dedicated system/hardware/OS upgrade, joe consumer is probably just going to run and buy a little set top box with only a couple of cables, that is proven easy to use and save the hastle/time/money.
1.)4 wheeler or Dirt Bike. 2.)~30' strong rope, weak rope will do if it is all you have. 3.)an old Big Wheel, Trike, or Sled. 4.)helmet (optional, but recomended)
connect 1 to 2 to 3. hold on.
btw... use some sort of blanket/cardboard on the inside of the sled, because the friction of grass/hay on the bottom tends to melt the plastic at speeds over 20 mph, melting the bottom of the sled to your arse isn't too fun.
also... crashing a trike made for toddelers at 30+ mph can result in serious injuries (scars to prove it)
almost forgot... big wheels tend to break if you weigh more than 150 lbs, usually resulting in the wheels falling off, this is ok, because the bottom will still drag. Just have to balance it right.

so what if it uses windows. that is part of the thrill:0)
I seem to be pretty clear of them, but whenever I visit my parents place, even if it's just for dinner or something real short, they get a lot of silence-calls. Not hang-ups, the line doesn't go dead, just silence. My folks are pretty boring people and it's just them, so I'm not inclined to believe someone is fucking with them. Is this some type of auto-dialer fucking up somewhere?
I think... my hunch is that the telemarketing company makes a few thousand extra calls a day by dialing numbers before their operators are actually availible, (and routing calls already dialed to the next availible operator immediatly after they finish their last call) saving the second or two that it takes to dial after a call has been completed, I have had this happen, and sometimes after 10 sec they will pick up.
Not quite, the radiation would fry pretty much any consumer grade electronic device. Plus, I don't think 5 degrees Kelvin is too healthy for any modern PC component. (I guess you could do one helluva overclock, but the board would probably shatter due to the head differences)
For example, classic cars slowly go up in value as the demographic that remembers them from their teenage years reaches the age of massive disposable income, then drop in value as the same group slowly dies off.
mabey for a '74 Nova, but any true collectable car is not going to drop in price. This list was for the top 10 gaming grails, not top 10 games that everyone had when they were young. These are truly rare and collectable.
With geek items like this, the half-life is even shorter. Magic The Gathering cards are already past their prime in terms of collectable value; once the people who played the NES in their youth are past the age of buying this stuff, watch the prices plummet
Just curious, who is the god of games? Carmack? I give my vote to Miyamoto, I don't think anyone really comes close, I have enjoyed his games since I was a kid, and still continue to do so today.
I had such high hopes for this article. IMO it blew ass. It depressed me. Turning a village into an eco-tourist site is fucking ridiculous. Overpaid "enviornmentalists" flying into the jungle to see tribes that were converted to christianity? I would rather waste my money and time on Cable TV and Beer, at least then, I am only corrupting myself, not cultures that date back thousands of years.
actually i seen that happen when a mc wouldnt shut up at a show the dj just picked up a dub and smacked the guy on his head. I almost pissed my self laffing.
lol. I had a mc just hop on the mic one time during a set. Wouldn't stop, I guess he was a really bad (drum&bass/jungle) MC. Couldn't hear him because the mic wasn't going though the monitors, I guess he was yelling for a rewind for a minute or 2... I was getting pissed, pulled out 187 'Music Sounds Better with Bass' threw it on, packed up, when the record was done I left.
Much worse was this chick who thought it would be fun to shoot me with silly string. Got inside my mixer/over records/needles/turntables.
actually I play Guitar and Drums along with being a drum & bass dj. Not a frustrated musician, just stating that I have seen many djs or should I say 'Techno' djs who couldn't play records worth a damn, so they went and bought $4000 worth of cd decks and effects to cover up their lack of skills.
I haven't used the new Newmark, but every (not joking) person I know who has owned Newmark equiptment over the last 6 years has had it fail/break. Numark reminds me of Hyundai, back in '87. Give em another 15 years and they might get it right... or not.
btw...
I have tried just about every other dj turntable known to man, and all I can say is that nothing has come close to the Tech 12s in terms of quality, accuracy, durability, weight/feedback... etc.

600 in RIAA terms actually means 222.3277909738717339667458432304

Heh - and to think I used to worry about using magnetized screwdrivers when working on computers.
actually I am pretty sure that a magnetized screwdriver could do some damage to more delicate parts (cmos, ram, etc...)
could someone back me up on this?

I have friends that have been modding speak & spells for quite a few years now. Basically the same stuff, some more advanced.
Congress passed the copyright law after heavy lobbying from companies with lucrative copyrights.
That sums up American politics pretty well.

Put it in a rack and throw *nix on it and sell it for 10x the price.
nah...
old tractor tire + hill
better yet, locate the following:

I say offer every last fucking tribe on Earth a refrigerator, some good shoes with arch support, and a writing system if they don't have one
do you also say, teach every tribe to be a good, jesus worshiping christian also??
