"They heavily implied that those of us who were stupid enough to say "Hey, this new steam thing is great! Why would I ever want a retail copy of a game?" would be able to play the game before it was in the stores."

No, they did not. YOU heavily inferred it, but I suppose that's Valve's fault to. Sorry, but Valve is not responsible for your delusion.

  2. sony's should just keep quiet on Sony PSP Hardware Completed · · Score: 5, Insightful
the psp seemed beautiful when it was announced, yet every detail released tarnishes it.

at this point, we have a $300, oversized-yet-portable game player with 3 hour battery life, and the ability to play movies on a propietary format that you can't record to... don't worry though, i'm sure you'll be able to re-pay for the movies you own, so you can watch them for a few hours on the 3" screen before the battery dies...

... but that IS a a nice screen.

all we need now is some kind of phone attachment, and sony can have their very own n-gage.

Now for WINDOWS, this was a huge problem, because you couldn't install the drivers without the original cd

huh? i've had the audigy platinum for years, and every windows driver release is on

    a. sb website
    b. gamer/file websites (see: fileshack)

i've also used these drivers on every windows release minus 3.1, 95, and NT... sounds like your boss flat out lied to you, and you never bothered to go to the soundblaster website...

  4. games not compatible on N-Gage QD - Nokia's Answer To The Critics? · · Score: 1

amazingly, it seems that this new n-gage will not be 100% compatible with v1 games, and/or vice versa. From this off-site link (Raiskinen is the Senior VP of Games at Nokia):

Raiskinen said several games were being developed for the new device, most of which will be compatible with both the original N-Gage and the QD version.

The original N-Gage has more than 10 games already available, with more coming. An additional 50 are in development for QD, and most will be compatible between the two devices.

so add "guaranteed shelf life of at least 3 months" to that growing list of reasons to own an n-gage.

The fact is, a person's writing skills is almost a direct correlation to the quality of their education. Congratulations on writing the worst sentence I've read all day, while apparently trying to convey the importance of strong sentences. 1. a person's writing skills are 2. the skill is a direct correlation? I thought a skill was a particular ability. 3. *almost* a *direct* correlation? 4. your next sentence begins "It is not unreasonable" I can only guess this was modded +4 for the unrecognized irony
