  1. Re:Dump... on How Cheap Can A PC Be? · · Score: 1

Agreed. The routers in question are WIRED only. The problem isn't the CPU it's the memory.

  2. Re:Dump... on How Cheap Can A PC Be? · · Score: 1

Actually I'm running it on a Pentium Pro, 200mhz box just fine! :) What caused D-Link and Linksys routers to crash is running strong with 0.05 loads, and >1ms pings. Cheers!

Do keep in mind that a consumer router cannot do NEARLY as much as a linux machine when it comes to number of connections, etc. Not to mention the amount of additional applications and servers you can run!

  6. Energizer Phone on Where Has Your Cell Phone Been? · · Score: 1

My phone has gone through hell and back.. and it keeps on going..

    I've...
Dropped it 2 stories onto the steel deck of a boat MULTIPLE times on different occasions(fell out of pocket as I was leaning over a railing)..
    Dropped it into puddles..
Exposed it go through chemicals galore..
Gotten it hooked up on stuff as I ran by(was in my pocket)

I can't even remember what else I've done to it.. :> Thing still works great, unless you count how quiet it is.. but that's because it lives in my pocket and the speaker is full of lint...

    Cheers!

I'm from Van, and it's true, they did. They played the entire Radiohead album which is to be released 2(?) months from now... they downloaded it off the internet. The "cute" thing about it, is when the music company got "annoyed" the station manager didn't care, essentially saying any publicity is good publicity and that them playing it on the radio helps fight i-net piracy... ohh the irony. Cheers.

  12. Breaking the mold on What's Your Earliest Memory? · · Score: 1

I can vaguely remember the kitchen table/booth from when I was a young child. (Age 0 to 1.5) At the age of 1.5 my father passed away and we had to move. A few years later the memory came back to me, i asked my mother if we had such and such a booth in our house, suprisingly she said we did and wanted to know how I knew. Guess I've been right all along.. I am a freak. :>

  14. Thankful on Company Christmas Gifts / Bonuses? · · Score: 1

Quite frankly we should just be happy that we have jobs and the ability to make ends meet. I am working a rather hard job, I am the grunt, the guy that gets all the hard jobs, the jobs that nobody else wants to do. I am however thankful for my job, and would never be anything but grateful for being able to do it. Each year there is a company Christmas party, in no way did I expect to be invited, however this weekend I was suprised to have been. It won't be a great, extravagent party, however it's the thought that counts right! :) Be thankful guys, if your boss is an ass that gives you a "bobble head doll of himself" just be grateful that you are able to work under him, and you get paid for what you do.

  15. Who needs a warrant? on Canadian ISPs Could Take On Big Brother Role · · Score: 1

How hard do you think it would be for a bored sysadmin to check out what the users are up to?

How hard do you think it would be for the 14 year old down the street to hack the isp servers and check out what you're up to?

Many Canadian ISP's aren't as secure as they should be. Heck that goes for most of the ISP's in the world but thats another story now isn't it?

Any idea on if this could be stopped via HTTPS?
