    At 20cm the average person WILL move their hand/watch past the authentication range. Will they need re-authentication.
    The gun will fire if the attacker has twisted the gun to face the victim because the watch is within range.
    The victim will need to fire with their off-hand because they used their good arm to defend against the initial attack. (This happened recently here.) The gun will not fire because it isn't close enough to the watch.

    This setup is a recipe for disaster. In the name of safety, we will give up everything that gives us a chance against the bad guys.

    You do realize the reason he said "he can't wait" is because he's referring to whatever software that Tynt is going to release to block Tynt, and not referring to ABP or NoScript.

    The GP makes the assumption that the option Tynt will provide is software. It might be another way that doesn't involve software. Tynt wasn't clear on what method they were use for the opt-out.

    I'd give you that if it weren't for the ridiculous prices they have on the rest of the items in the store.

    Last time I needed a mini-stereo to Video/Stereo RCA cable, they wanted $27.99. Granted, Best Buy wanted $29.99 and Circuit City only had the Monster branded one for $59.99...
    BUT IT'S JUST A $3 CABLE!

    I wanted it right away and would have paid maybe $10, but instead I went home and went on ebay and got it for $2.50 plus $3 shipping.

    I'm perfectly willing to pay a markup, but not a 1000% markup.

    I would pay for the newspaper from time to time. That meant $.25. Somewhat recently it was increased to $.50 and my purchase of the newspaper was greatly reduced. When they raised the price to $.75 per paper, I stopped buying.
    If they charge for online access, I guess I will just stop reading news altogether and just listen to the radio like I have been for the last two years.

    I've already been there...Went to buy a slightly unusual video cable.
    Mini-stereo on one side, composite video/L+R audio on the other. Last time I bought it, it was $3.
    I was willing to pay a premium to get it right then and there. I knew I could get it online for a good price, but I wanted it that day.

    Local chain stores, nothing. Target, Walmart? No dice.
    Best Buy had it. $30. But, I wasn't gonna pay 10x the price. Ridiculous.
    Radio Shack had it. $28. Better, but still way too high.
    Ciruit City had it, but only the Monster brand. $60. Insanity.

    In the end, I went to Ebay, found it in two minutes and paid $5 with $1.50 in shipping. Still twice the price of what I last bought it for, and I had to wait until it arrived three days later. But honestly, I would have paid $10 to have it right away. I did ask for a better price, but was told no at BestBuy and RadioShack.
    They're all working real hard at putting themselves out of business.

    I worked for Fry's for two weeks. There's a reason nobody knows anything. Anyone who does know anything gets out as fast as they can because the managers are abusive, their policies are very harsh, and morale is so low, they have to worry about the employees stealing more than the shoplifters. Talking with the security people, they said they figure about 50% of the people working there will steal from Fry's at some point in their employment. That's how bad they piss you off.

    Fry's also puts nearly every single return back on the shelf. There's a whole team of people wrapping and strapping right behind the return counter.

    Even with personalization, I am getting the same "custom" messages from 15+ "female" names.When you get your forula spam message, does anyone click on them anymore?

    Is there still money in spam, other than the money from selling the spam lists and spam network?

    If it gets higher arrests than random searches what's the problem?

    Because, even if it is higher, it's still 99% wrong.
    Would you consider a 99% false positive rate on traffic stops to be "acceptable?"

    This game is only a way to play old-skool Mega-man on the newer platforms and it isn't the first MM game to do it.

    This is not the only way. Remember, the Wii can play Gamecube games, so you can just get a Megaman Anniversary Collection for the Gamecube to play.

    That's because in the US, we have morons who try to beat the trains to the crossing. Most of us don't have cars that'll do 300kph(186mph). If our trains went that fast, being stopped at the intersection wouldn't mean a 10 minute delay. So, people would be less inclined to try to beat the train.

    This already exists as EXIF comments in the jpegs. I can add these remarks and sort them using the comments in most modern photo viewing programs.

    The only "innovation" I can see here is the fact it makes a nice animation flipping the photo over. Hardly patent-worthy.
    Seriously, we need to have people that grant patents with some experience in the field they're granting patents.

    The team does not attempt to crack high-grade encryption, relying instead on the threat of a prison sentence for individuals refusing to hand over passwords or decrypted files.

    I'd start by posting the one about a $500 fine for detonating a nuke inside the Chico, CA city limits. But I can't verify whether or not that is a real law or an urban legend.

    Other than the fact that the fine for detonating a nuke is less than littering, *this* is why we need to know the law.
    If you cannot look it up before you go do something(sensible like a modification to your house, etc...), why are we punished?

    Do you think that the US and European governments will start caning people who vandalize cars and spit gum on the sidewalk?

    Is that better than putting someone in jail, useless to society, and costing us $40,000 taxpayer dollars for vandalizing a car? The punishment cost us more than the car defacement. Seems like the punishment is out of line with the crime.
