They sent a request to renew to my parents last month even though their yearly doesn't expire until March of next year, pathetic shakedown. They'll be using MSE once it expires.
Use Rockbox instead http://www.rockbox.org/
I record (and download) a lot of live music and prefer to keep it lossless, so I convert everything to flac and tag it all in foobar2000 http://www.foobar2000.org/ rather than going the MP3 route.
Rockbox will remove your need for iTunes and the unwanted QT install and does a very nice job on most older iPods (I have a 5.5 video 80 gb as well as an older iRiver that it works sweetly on).
Unfortunately, they stopped after the mini and 1g Nano so if you have anything newer you're out of luck, but this is easy to use and works a treat for me.
About 7 years ago I worked for a biotech that was testing the left enantiomer of amphetamine in humans for mild cognitive impairment trials with some success (the right enantiomer is dexedrine). It got derailed due to some issues that another (similar) drug was having with the FDA at the time. There is plenty of positive data available in humans for improving memory with amphetamines, just look around...
FTA: "A system like this should have strong logins, should require that the request be documented fully, and should produce statistical information so there can be strong oversight," he says. "I think that's a good thing to have."
This is Declan McCullagh, who apparently has some dead bodies that these 100 police inspectors know about:)
Quite a lot of boomers who were way too close to the stacks at concerts may be happy about this in a few years, but here's hoping that it doesn't require real teeth since dentures may be a big part of the demographic.
Avast is great, never any issues or any real nags. I did just get a suggestion to visit a blog page where the CEO chatters a bit but they seem to be in good shape at the moment...
Agreed, ESPN is terrible, especially Tommy Smythe:) I canceled my cable and rarely miss it. Hulu does a good job for most of the mainstream content, but I subscribe to Setanta Broadband and FSC Broadband for my football (soccer) fix. Now that Setanta is seemingly no more I may be facing having to go back to cable since only FIOS carries 360 around here (Cablevision country). ESPN will get to bid for the US rights formerly owned by Setanta and no doubt put it on 360 if they win. Or I can go back to the dodgy Chinese broadcasts:)
I worked for a biotech several years ago and we targeted cognition in MS for one smallish study (120 subjects, iirc). Mostly we were targeting mild cognitive impairment (pre-Alzheimers). We were using the left enantiomer of amphetamine (the right is dex) and we saw some decent results, but the company got shut down by investors who weren't happy with the bad press Adderal (a related compound) was getting at the time.
On another note, citing number of digits recalled and improved planning is a fairly weak measurement of cognitive status.
Having professional editors is great, but there has to be talent to create the content that the bloggers inevitably rip to shreds. The Guardian Unlimited has had bloggers eviscerating their talent for well over a year now http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/ and it's been interesting to see how the writers react to the bloggers comments, this type of journalism will require thicker skin than the walls of the editor's office or down at the bar where such criticism might previously have been leveled. I can just see the former path of the newspaper delivery boy in the worst part of town becoming a page one writer changing to the poor just out of journalism school guy being told to moderate the blogs until something better opens up. 5 moderation points is quite enough pain at one time for me:)
Where is the data showing that big business is using XP now? The migration to XP might be finished by the time 7 is trusted, but Vista will never bridge the gap...
'In early December, a "sample party" will be held at the USGS office in Menlo Park, where the cores will be on display and scientists will offer their proposals to do research projects in a bid to be allowed to analyze part of the core.'
I can only imagine the carnage after some disappointed geologist grabs a sample of core and teaches them all whose fault it is...
From the pdf, the ILO definitions:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/sep/05/fifa-passports-claims The most interesting bit is that Sepp Blatter's nephew is involved with the company at fault.

Being that their actual newstand price is $2.00 up here one county north of the Bronx, I'm sure I'll get used to life without it...
Here's a link for the latest version of the player without the download manager attached. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_update3_flash10.zip

Great, I can just see some 21st century Bob Ross picking his nose to get a bit more granularity in his next brush stroke...happy little trees my ass
This is for the CEO of a small bioitech to pitch his shill to the VC, hard to imagine a molecular biologist seeing any need for it...
Inderal is great for stage fright; doctors and lawyers would take it before oral exams back in the day, not sure if it's still used this way...
Just right click the link scanner component and choose to ignore the component state...

Being that McKee has 'entered treatment', I guess he needs more than an alibi :)

It looks like they have ECM, or at least Jarrett, which is amazing, definitely gonna be poorer in the pockets but richer in the ears soon :)
The spike (+1 hour) occurred between 1986-1988, and the first episode wasn't until 1989. I'm guessing Miami Vice :)
