I'm pretty much a PC gaming zealot, I can't really justify even the current $149 for the Xbox or PS2.
I think a better option than making a console that can do PC stuff, make the add in board to put the Console stuff into the pc. An expansion board, and maybe a cd/dvd/whatever drive if they wanted to make it more proprietary. That way, you can use all the pc functionality, but you also get the benefit of having the console.
This would benefit the console companies, in that it wouldn't take very much to create this board, yet it would give them a broader market. Cause I know a bunch of people who would never buy a console. But they would by a "console expansion" for their pc.
I really believe that kids are missing out when it comes to current cartoons. The quality of cartoons has suffered in recent years. Everything is trying to be "one for all" type of entertainment. No show wants to leave any one group out, and I think this is where the quality suffers. Boys and girls are different - and they are entertained by different things. Too many cartoons try to bridge the gap and fail miserably. Hopefully all the "good" cartoons come out on DVD so my kids don't have to miss out on what I got to enjoy.

Its difficult to reply to this, but you might want to look a little closer at the FLSA Section 13.

Overtime pay requirements come down to whether you qualify as a Excempt or Non-Exempt employee. Excempt employees which most IT jobs fall, aren't required to be paid any compensation beyond their salary.

But then again I also remember when I got my first 486 with a 340MB harddrive. I added a 1.2GB harddrive and thought that there would be no way to ever fill 1.5GB worth of disk space... Its just like processor power, as computers can do more and make things more realistic there are going to be people that can find creative uses for a TB of data. I'm working when 1TB disks will be available for a pc...
This would ban 'direct marketing, notably advertising, via electronic messages' to individuals who had not given consent.
The problem with legislation like this is that most people opt-in on a specific site, but that list gets sold. You don't know what the buyers are using that information for so consent was given, but not necessarily to the people sending. US laws have a very similar problem.
I have a home theater, including a large widescreen television, that if I move my chair a little closer to the TV feels like I am in the theater.
But this will never come close to matching the experience of the Movie Theater. Yes, there are the occasional a$$holes who have no courtesy for fellow theater-goers (maybe jamming cellphones in the theater is a good idea!). But I still very much enjoy the going to the theater. Plus, for the most part most movies that I want to see - I don't have the patience to wait for them!
I have spent many, many hours standing in lines for certain movies (which Rick has a hand in), and hope to continue this trend!
