  1. Gas Powered Scooters EVERYWHERE on China's New Craze: E-bikes · · Score: 2, Interesting

Has anyone else seen a hug increase in gas powered scooters around their neighborhood? They seem to be getting more popular than skateboards for kids now.

I'm a little worried about kids without licenses driving motorized vehicles around on sidewalks, though they could be safer than those segways that would just tip over if the battery ran out going up a hill :)

A friend of mine who works for a city transportation planning organization and I were discussing tha they are scrambling to draw up some regulation on these things.

I searched High and Low to make sure it wasn't - maybe I missed something. The article was posted last night on msnbc.com, but was in print in Newsweek on Dec. 1st which may make it a dupe for those of you with Newsweek subscriptions. I searched slashdot for LoTR, Peter Jackson, and RoTK and got nothing related to this article, so I submitted it.

Or they must be trying to make a lot of money in the stock market - their stock has soared in the last few months from 1.00 to 10.00 a share. If you owned one million dollars of SCO stock (How much does Darl own?) then sold rght before the lawsuit was dismissed (of course being the insider you would know all this) you could make a cool 10 mil or more - unless the SEC catches you :)
