This is obviously offtopic for the whole discussion, but you've got me interested. I want to play some games on the iBook I'll be buying in January, so 640 would obviously be a benefit, but RAM is VERY expensive where I live. The 512 MB upgrade from Apple costs about $200. Now, is it worth that?
I just discovered another thing. It looks like the reviewer did NOT get his Firewire card from Xi Computer. He says he added $50 for a FW card, and it costs $54 at Xi Computer. So with that $4 subtracted from my cost, I end up with the exact same price: $4107.
I ended up with $4111 for the exact same machine. In addition to the points you mentioned, you also need to remember these::
V90HW modem (expensive one)
Firewire
Dual Channel SATA controller
Not only on Christmas Day -- also on other days around Christmas. "Little Christmas Eve", what we call the 23rd in Norway, has always been something of a Tyrian day for me, strangely, ever since my brother and I played the Tyrian shareware version over and over and over and over again on that day in '96 or '97 (or '95?).
Some person said that the reason passive non-violence did work for Gandhi, was because of the freedom of press. That in addition to the obvious fact that the Brits actually gave a shit, and put pressure on the government. Obviously this wouldn't work with an opressive regime such as that of a Stalinistic Communist state.
Also eMule is very good for using idle bandwith. In fact, I'd say it's better than BitTorrent, because you can share more files at once with more easy. I've got 381 files shared (nothing RIAA or MPAA), and 1023 GB uploaded. That's since approximately November 2002 with my consumer ADSL connection.
Huh? XP calls all non-"limited" accounts Administrator accounts -- could you please explain what the difference between a Power User and the Administrator is in XP?
Did you play Alpha Centauri? I assume you would, being a Civ 2 fan. AC really had that impact on me. I just loved it. Still install it about once every year. But really, it's not very recent. Halo and NOLF 2 are the only games which have given me that feeling in the last couple of years.
Unfortunately, the Nintendo 64 controller does not have this reputation. I've destroyed two. And the NES loading thing supposedly gets worn out. But yeah, mostly they could take a beating when you didn't get that boss for the 100th time in Metroid.
You got a few things wrong with his name. Kim Jong Il is the Dear Leader; Kim Il Sung is the Great Leader. So "Great Leader Kim Yong Il" Is just wrong. Sorry.

I actually just spent 5 minutes trying to find this post when I saw post #7777719... What life? Oh, that's an idea for my Christmas wish list.

I guess I'm tired from watching LOTR late last night. "easy" in the second sentence should of course be "ease".

Yep. This appears to be correct.
You'll have to tell me if you ever make money off that refer link, Brian.
It is logical. I even thought it was funny!
Because, eh, it was a joke. I think. :)
And Opera users can do this by pressing "F12" and "f"...
4 years. It wasn't on the list in 1999... Of course, back then it wasn't even very late yet, so... Yeah. Might make no. 1 for the 3rd time this year.
Wow. It's actually pretty rare for me to laugh because of a Slashdot comment... Meh. Never have mod points when I need 'em...
Hm. Okay. But in any case, the lusrmgr.msc panel tells me that my default user is an administrator; not a Power User. This is in Pro.
Thanks.
Oh really? I've never seen that used. However, I'm only familiar with the two main romanization systems (their names elude me at the moment). Thanks.
This thing isn't made for Japan; it's for China. So I guess iQue is Chinese too... After all, there is no "Q" in Japanese.

Here are a few games for you.
Site is VERY slow, but obviously as soon as you get the links in your client, you'll enjoy P2P and stuff.
Alternatively, you can download from Suprnova with BitTorrent.
So there you have it! Have fun buying memory cards if you want to bring all those games with you at once.

I agree. I think it looks pretty good, except the grey is a bit dark; would be nice if it was a little more yellowish.

USA: 2006
Norway: 2007
Those are the deadlines I know. Japan certainly aren't the earliest.
