it is hard to imagine a structure where having access to one or more low privilege accounts wouldn't make an attacker's life somewhat easier.
The rule is pretty simple: any attack that can be done by an outsider, can be done by an insider. If they had had defences against a bent user of that account, this would probably not have happened.
I hate to break it to you, but "leaving your body to medical science" is equivalent to "agreeing to let medical students learn anatomy on you".
Old people are old because they haven't died of the things that kill people. That sounds trite, but it is literally a summary of everything we know about increasing longevity. People aren't living longer, the survival function is simply getting squarer.
Yep - you've basically explained the other reason I wouldn't bet against Apple. They are ruthless about destroying their own product lines. Most companies would have made the iPhone unable to play music to protect the iPod. Apple made it irrelevant (though that said, the iPod still sells pretty heavily).
I would agree the stock is probably over-valued, but I firmly believe stock prices are pretty meaningless. But yes, I would consider buying an American put on them at a reasonable strike price.
There you go - I think a lot of users confuse "well-trained" with "user-friendly". Everyone who transitioned to 2007 had this feeling. Once you get used to it, it is significantly faster than 2003 and (dare I say it) more intuitive too.
They've managed it since "No wireless. Less space than a Nomad. Lame". How many/.ers *remember* the Nomad? Apple has managed to innovate ahead of the pack for ten years now, an aeon in consumer electronics. Some of the competition is starting to get it, but I genuinely don't see any of them managing to really keep up just yet. And I certainly don't see the next piece of innovation from anyone but Apple. Sadly.
Do you actually *use* Office? I probably spend about 30 hours a week in it, and I can assure you the Ribbon is one of the few things Microsoft got right.
In general, when judges make rulings that are sufficiently novel to establish precedent, they tend to make their ruling as narrow as reasonably possible in order not to circumscribe future cases.
And a number of them went to jail. MPs are required to maintain two properties as a consequence of being an MP. Paying them for the expense of doing so is not really unreasonable.
They pleaded guilty. There is very little to do in such cases, and judges have largely taken the line that the situation is such that they can depart from sentencing guidelines. Hence there is very little of the usual hanging around waiting for background reports and such.
Bullshit. If you actually know a politician who's a criminal, report him to the police. Prosecute him yourself if you really think you're right. Otherwise, you're just committing libel.
Your are responsible for your own safety. If someone is tailgating you and you don't respond, you are being unsafe. Yes, someone else caused it, but you are still responsible for dealing with it.
I just don't see it. Google can sit on their ass, concentrate on their core business, and make money hand over fist without taking a single risky step if they so choose. They can walk away from any of the issues they are being investigated for. If they choose to spend a lot of money on a strategic purpose, you can bet they see a purpose to it. Even if you don't.
Google. Use it. Or go to a website where common technical terms are not assumed to be known by the community.

This is a stupid idea.
It's not as low as mine, therefore, no.
Yes, but Mao, Hitler, and Stalin didn't march under a banner that said "No Gods".
Man, who *wouldn't* want to be woken up by a Mistress in the morning?
When was the last time we actually /.ed something? It's embarrassing.
The person giving the course *wrote* the textbook.
Lightweight. I still have my Nomad and it's still a solid piece of machinery. And it runs on AA :p

No, it wouldn't. It's a stupid idea and deserves to be excoriated.

Ahem. A symmetrical distribution, thank you.

So the correct response is to complain about Apple's pricing? No.
I'm Scottish.

make your own damned iPad. Apple are free to pick their prices.
