    The bias of the researcher (Moffitt) is obvious and annoying. Oh goodness! It's unfair that people who age rapidly have the same retirement age as everyone else.

    Charles Atlas lived to be 79. The wikipedia article mentions nothing about him treating himself poorly when young. Although he may have been on the skinny side as a youth, it appears that his interest in bodybuilding and health was a lifelong preoccupation.

    It depends on how much running you do. Do a lot of running and you'll find yourself aging faster: joint problems, oxidative damage to the whole body as running depletes antioxidants, brain degradation as the opioids of "runner's high" attack your brain.

    Democrats had supermajority control of both houses. ALL Republicans voted against Obamacare; there was nothing they could do to stop it. Democrats blindly - literally blindly, nobody had read the whole bill when it passed - followed Herr Fuhrer Obama. This was an example of Democrats drunk with the arrogance of unlimited power.

    We've been spending more money on education, and the results are getting worse. Education should not be expensive, anything pre-college is actually pretty easy to teach. Currently, in the US we're spending about twice as much as is necessary.

    Enron failed because it thought that its expertise in power pricing was valid in other fields. It was wrong.
    Utilities are regulated for 2 reasons: 1. The sort of people who complain about everything in life are goaded by monthly bills into complaining to the government. 2. Being uniquely capital intensive and inherently unable to move, utilities are prime targets for government bullying

    Why have cameras been around for decades but only now these "selfie sticks" are being used?

    Extremely large numbers of quality, low-weight cameras is a new phenomenon. A one pound SLR on a 6 foot pole would require a strong wrist and a sturdy pole.

    Private streets are frequently maintained by the owning entity. Unlike public streets, your taxes aren't paying to support them. You should be pleased that they aren't a burden on your life.

    FUD. I use Linux to play DVDs. It's different from using a dedicated DVD player, because Linux never bluescreens, unlike my dedicated players.

    Selfie sticks on an amusement park ride are just crazy dangerous. If you must claim that Disney's consideration is money, include in that money the number of hundred-million dollar lawsuits for death, blindness, dismemberment, punctured organs, etc.. Disney would be negligent if selfie sticks were allowed.

    That $0.03 / kWh needs to be added to the cost of the electricity used to charge the battery, and factored with the efficiency of the charge/discharge cycle.

    Is that 14.42 volts with the battery in the circuit? If so, the battery may be acting as a shunt regulator. (I don't want to seem challenging, I'm genuinely curious.)

    Purity may be an issue. If batteries require high purity lithium, additional refining steps might be expensive.
