    The initiation of force against an innocent person is always wrong; that's where the "should" gets its merit.

    "As safely as possible" is a stupid goal for 2 reasons. The first is that almost complete safety could be achieved by limiting vehicles to 4 mph, which would severely degrade the worth of motorized transportation. The second, as any good practitioner in the field can tell you, is that improvements in safety have a cost. It is not wise to spend 1 billion dollars if it's only going to save one life.

  5. It's the government spending that does the most damage.
    Drop medicare and health spending, unemployment and labor department, housing and community development, transportation, federal education spending, food and agriculture. Those comprise 40% to 60% of the federal budget, and they're almost all completely unconstitutional - i.e. illegal.

    How much better would your life be if your federal taxes were halved?

    There are many areas where the generating capacity is already marginal. The whole US changing to electric vehicles is going to require a lot of new capacity.

    There are many compressors inferior to MP3, some of them quite crude and barely adequate for intelligible telephony. They're mostly forgotten.

    Wires have inductance. A 30 meter run of speaker wire will cause a loss of at least 3 dB at 20 kHz.

  13. Manhattan has I-95 crossing E-W in the north part of the city. NYC has several interstates.

    The summary calls the proposed road a freeway, which is wrong. There would have been a toll to cross the river(s), so the road would have been called a turnpike or a (hah) parkway.

    Lectures are also better when laboratories would be fatal. Imagine a lab on how plague kills humans, or the effects of nuclear bombs.

    Launch nuclear missiles from submarines in the Laptev Sea, wiping out North Korea's major cities and military installations in one minute. The missiles will hit NK after passing over Russia and China, making it look as if one of those two initiated the attack. Shortest war in history.

    The law requires all EPA regulations to be reviewed by its science board. During the Obama administration, this requirement was flauted for the decision that CO2 emissions could be regulated.

    At least Trump, unlike Obama, is acting within the law.

    How low priced? It's common for supermarkets to sell distilled water for $1 per gallon. Culligan and others deliver drinking water in 5 gallon containers. There are firms with tanker-truck delivery for filling swimming pools.

    For really low prices you need pipe-to-the-home, which has high up-front costs and needs permission to dig up the roads.

    It appears that the only things you consider work are things you're familiar with. Management involves many functions, including budgeting, scheduling, general planning, making hiring and firing decisions, making status reports, writing proposals, handling personal conflicts, and much more.

    If he doesn't pay the fine, he could be subject to arrest. A fine is not really morally different than arrest.

    The principle of an omnipotent state does not differ, but the practice does. For instance, further legal action would be required for an arrest, or for any other enforcement move like taking Colbert's money from a bank account.

    An arrest for refusing to pay the fine would be on a charge such as contempt of court.
