ROFL. You need the IntelliJ guys who build a Java IDE to help the.net clowns do CI cause it's too difficult for Microsoft to figure out. Just like their awful diff/merge tools. What a laugh.
Really? Every try to port a non trivial.net app to 64 bit? Good luck with that. Java gives you 64 for free. Just run the 64 bit JVM - no fuss no muss. Yeah if you're in bed with Microsoft and want to have a much higher TCO then go for.net.
I have been using.NET for several years and Visual Studio doesn't hold a candle to IntelliJ. You can't even do continuous integration with.NET. Visual Studio stores each project file separately in the "solution" so you have conflicts all the time. It doesn't help that the VS merge tool is brain dead. It's pathetic that we have to work with such garbage from a company like Microsoft.
WTF are you talking about? Oracle.net driver? You mean you're using.net with an oracle database instead of mssql? Well there's your problem. M$ doesn't like other databases except theirs.
That's much less likely to happen with Java apps. skovnymfe's point (since it flew way over your head) was that node.js is not backed by a big company so if you're doing important development you probably would want to use something safer.
Right like COM which is everywhere and will never go away. Another failed promise of .NET.

Still holds true after all these years. Kinda sad really for .NET.
Yeah. It's doing it wrong to use Visual Studio with a team.

Nope. They haven't. the .NET data layer is still coded around concrete classes mostly and the APIs have many less features than JDBC.

You had me until "there's nothing that compares to C#/dotNET." Er JAVA which is 10 times better?

Speak for yourself. I'm 47 and have little gray hair - but all of it well earned. ;)
Right. Yet another bad idea.
Most of these are bad ideas so I'm glad they are not in Java.
Who voted this up? I fucken bike with fans underneath? So underwhelming.
Thanks but this is not owning the industry. Probably PS4 will overtake XBox One since it's been generally hated by most gamers.
Owns gaming? Ciation?
Ya think?
"A big downside is that we're likely going to see the end of cheap, used games."
No. Only maybe used games on XBox which no one will use any more. PS4 has officially won.
Nope. Smalltalk died because projects written in it were unmaintainable. Simple as that.
Durn. I already used up my mod points. :(
How many, 10? FAIL.
Citation? You don't have one cause you just have irrational Oracle hate because you're a fucken monkey.
Microsoft deflecting their own security flaws,
We need to make a petition at change.org! Oh, I guess we only do that for Oracle.
